Subtle finger, hand and wrist movements are essential to being able to ride smoothly at speed, the feedback of physical sensations through the handlebars is vital that's why it's so important to have Mr Ed Powell-Smith @HandClinic #onhand who is #simplythebest @harrogatenhsft
Surgeons are often concerned about lack of lateral stability when discussing DIPJ arthroplasty esp in the radial digits but I have not seen it as a problem. This is the function you can expect after an index finger DIPJ replacement. #handsurgery #orthotwitter
6 years post DIP joint arthroplasty. Technically not too difficult to do. Op done under ring block and implant cheaper than a headless compression screw. Full ROM and pain free. Not sure why more people aren’t doing these? #orthotwitter #FOAMed (ps it’s the index finger!)

Great work by @yorfac on developing the pathway for dynamic exertional compartment pressure testing. Although unusual in the upper limb the effects can be significant and diagnosis can be challenging as elite rower @alicevodden discovered and wrote about her experiences.
Replying to @yorfac
I mainly assess & treat these problems affecting the lower limb, but they can occur in other muscle groups.
Check out this blog by elite rower Alice Vodden whose upper limb CECS I helped @HandClinic diagnose & treat @HarrogateNHSFT
