The Temple of Doom comic = no Crocs
The bridge sequence was filmed in Sri Lanka, but the crocodiles were filmed later.
Since the crocs were added late in the movie's post-production cycle, they were not part of the initial script packets or visual references sent to Marvel.
Indiana Jones trivia that still trips people up: Temple of Doom is the sequel, but it’s actually a prequel.

And it answers the question the movie never did: how did Indy ride a U-boat all the way to the Nazi base?
He lashes himself to the periscope with his whip, keeps his head above water... and apparently naps through the trip. 😴
