That’s a whole lot of gratitude on one table! A big thank-you to The Common Man Restaurants for generously providing the catering for 300 people at Harbor Care’s Thanksgiving Community Dinner: 130 pounds of turkey, 9 gallons of gravy, 200 pounds of butternut squash, and 50 pumpkin pies. This is what neighbors coming together looks like. We’re so grateful to The Common Man for helping make this meal possible. There’s room for more neighbors to join in. If you’d like to help make this gathering happen, email [email protected] to learn about sponsorship opportunities. All details at zurl.co/ln1Li

Harbor Care’s free Thanksgiving Community Dinner welcomes anyone who needs a meal or support—including neighbors experiencing homelessness, housing instability, or financial hardship. This year, we’re starting from scratch on the winter accessories, hygiene items, and snacks guests can take home. We expect 250–300 guests and need donations now. Choose an item from our Amazon Wish List. Several items start at just $8, and your purchase will help us provide practical support to a dinner guest. A delay in federal funding has created a difficult gap in housing assistance for people living with HIV in New Hampshire. We are deeply grateful to Lighthouse Credit Union for stepping in with a $10,000 donation to provide critical short-term support for clients served by Harbor Care’s HIV/AIDS Services team.   Stable housing helps people stay connected to care, take their medications consistently and focus on their health. Federal funding is expected to resume in February 2027. Until then, this support will help Harbor Care work to maintain assistance for clients facing uncertainty.   Thank you, Lighthouse Credit Union, for showing up for our community when it matters. Incredible community support. A huge milestone! We raised a glass last week to the supporters who helped make effectively ending veteran homelessness in Manchester possible. Thank you, Mayor Jay Ruais and the City of Manchester, Manchester VA Health Care, the Manchester Continuum of Care, and all the VSOs and community partners who made this work possible. Special thanks to Veteran Kumar Sookdeo for sharing his story. Harbor Care recently moved Kumar from transitional housing to a permanent home. Together, partners have recorded 152 permanent housing move-ins. The time to identify permanent housing has dropped from 284 days to 90—a 68% improvement! Fathers and Sons. Our client, James, has a fascinating story to tell. After committing a crime with his father at the age of 17, James went to prison. It was the beginning of a pattern that would define his life: prison, needles, and broken promises. Today, living in our Recovery House, James is finally rebuilding his life and getting to know his own teenage son. “I made the choices I made to end up where I’m at. Nobody forced me. But it was the life I understood,” he said. We pause to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, the first responders who answered the call, and the thousands of service members who ultimately gave their lives protecting our country. Harbor Care is honored to be a nonprofit beneficiary of The Honor Summit – United in Remembrance of 9/11. TONIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY, two columns of light will shine from the summit of Mt. Washington from 8 p.m. to midnight, visible from up to 130 miles away in clear weather. If the skies cooperate, look north and join us in remembering. Learn more: zurl.co/6G5JX (And congrats to our fellow beneficiaries: Operation Delta Dog, Hidden Battles Foundation, and Camp Resilience!) #veterans
