Birds, orchids, butterflies and all other wildlife pestered by my camera. Love playing poker and harmonica (but not at the same time!)

Leratiomyces ceres (Redlead Roundhead) I think. It looks right and the habitat was right (sandy soil, near pine, by a path). Any other views? An alien from Australia, this seen in Surrey 22/10/26 #fungi

'An amazing week of great food, great tour leaders and orchids, orchids and more orchids!' A lovely guest testimonial for Orchids of Rhodes, thanks Steph! Did we mention there may be lots of orchids?! While we don't neglect the rarities, we're there for the sheer spectacle too.

What an incredibly beautiful Bolete found in a very wet part of the New Forest, this week. It could be the relatively uncommon Xerocomellus ripariellus (or perhaps X. cisalpinus). May get a more definitive ID next week. Whatever it is, it’s very lovely. #fungi #NewForest
