Last week's BBC Annual Report indicates 43% of people consume BBC local content in England. Before the BBC's grand plan to 'improve' local provision overall - and the local radio changes - it was at 50%. Is it time for the BBC to hand over the provision of 'local'? BLOG:

Another GIANT in the world of popular music gone with the passing of the truly great @neilsedaka
I had the incredible honour & privilege of meeting him twice & I really felt the presence of greatness!
Such sad news. Thanks Neil for your brilliant melodies & beautiful records.

As a supporter of local news, is it not puzzling that @ofcom is requiring commercial stations to provide local news at least hourly from journalists "physically present in the area" - whereas BBC local stations only have to have bulletins "at frequent intervals" with no requirements on location.

@HarveyMix56 OMG Harvey!! I haven't heard the theme music to "The Beverly Hillbillies" in many a year. Wow. What a blast from the past. This really is what makes #musicgasm so wonderful. The mix of music is just superb.
