🟣 Pi Network: Is the Pi on Exchanges Real? Will People Who Buy or Send Pi from Exchanges Be Banned?
Recently, we have been seeing claims such as:
“Anyone who buys Pi from an exchange will be banned.”
“Anyone who sends Pi from an exchange will be banned.”
“Pi purchased from exchanges will not be usable within the ecosystem.”
Those who claim that people who buy or send Pi from exchanges will be banned and will not be able to use Pi within the ecosystem are approaching the project from a completely emotional perspective.
They do not want to believe that people who buy Pi from exchanges will be able to use it at the same value as the Pi they have mined for years. Some of these views also come from a lack of understanding of blockchain technology.
On the other hand, their concerns are understandable to some extent. The idea of someone who has been mining Pi for years and someone who buys Pi from an exchange having the same usage rights can feel unfair.
But unfortunately, this is how blockchain systems work.
Since they also anticipate that the ecosystem value will be high, these expectations have become a reason for such claims and opinions.
But there is one side that many people are overlooking:
There is no reason to assume that people who buy Pi from exchanges will automatically be banned or prevented from using Pi within the ecosystem. Because…
📌 Pi Network and Exchanges
Pi Network entered the Open Network on February 20, 2025, and official announcements were made regarding this transition.
Furthermore, in the Pi Network article published on February 21, 2025, the Pi Core Team explicitly stated that Pi could be traded on exchanges that have obtained KYB verification.
Therefore, the claim that everyone who buys or sends Pi through an exchange will automatically be banned is not correct.
🔥 So why does the Core Team send Pi to exchanges?
The Core Team also sends Pi to exchanges because they need to do so for the development of the project and the control of supply.
After obtaining the majority of the supply, they could potentially acquire the Pi held by whales through small-scale “2X–3X” increases on exchanges. In this way, by gaining control over a very large majority of the supply, they could give Pi the values they want together with the development of the ecosystem.
For a project whose goal is to become a digital currency and connect its community to the ecosystem, there should be no need to think that people will be banned simply because they buy or send Pi through exchanges.
The unfairness that people perceive comes from the idea that those who purchase someone else’s Pi on an exchange are obtaining, through an easier route, something that another person spent years working to mine.
However, during a “2X–3X” increase, those people may sell anyway.
And once again, the winners will be the conscious members of the community who hold onto their Pi and remain strongly committed to the ecosystem.

BREAKING: Putin has signed Russia's first comprehensive crypto law.
The Law on Digital Currencies and Digital Rights takes effect September 1, 2026.
What it does:
- Recognises digital currency as property
- Creates a licensed exchange market supervised by the Central Bank
- Sets up digital depositories to record who owns what
- Regulates mining, custody and digital financial assets
Retail investors must pass a knowledge test and are capped at 300,000 rubles (about $3,800) per platform each year. Qualified investors face no limit.
Only the largest and most liquid coins will be allowed to trade.
The Central Bank has said Bitcoin, Ethereum and USDT currently meet that standard.
Crypto still cannot be used to pay for goods inside Russia. Banks can block suspicious transactions, and a 48-hour cooling-off period applies to wallet transfers.
Meanwhile the CLARITY Act is not on the Senate schedule, and the chamber leaves for recess in just 2 days.
