COLLECTOR’S CORNER Collectors, hear me out, and PLEASE read 🙏 The new Hot Wheels Team Transport Rexy is already selling for $70 to $90 on eBay. Meanwhile, JCar Diecast has it listed for $40 plus shipping. I get the excitement because I want one too! But this release is barely hitting the market. It’s not a store exclusive, and even though there’s only one per case, I don’t think we need to be paying these prices right now. Here’s how I look at it. If you’re willing to spend $70 to $90 and don’t already own the original 2024 Race Day Rexy Porsche 911 GT3 R, why not grab that instead? That’s the iconic AO Racing Rexy that started it all for Hot Wheels collectors. It’s a different variant of Rexy, and you’re not finding those on store shelves anymore. They’re also not changing hands nearly as often as they were when they first came out. Personally, I think the original Race Day Rexy is only going to continue climbing in value, while the new Team Transport will likely dip as more hit the market. That’s why I’d rather grab the Race Day Rexy now and come back for the Team Transport when prices settle. Don’t get me wrong, I love the new Team Transport and absolutely want one in my collection. I just hate seeing collectors feel pressured to overpay for something that’s only beginning to hit stores. Give it some time. There will likely be better opportunities to grab one without paying these prices. Don’t let FOMO get the best of you. We’re all here because we love collecting, and nobody should feel like they have to spend more just to keep up.
