Anyone else going as Pumpkin Hill from Sonic Adventure 2 for Halloween this year or just me? 🎃⛰️
The costume has a treasure hunting minigame where you can move Knuckles across the “level” and the radar necklace will blink as you get closer to the hidden emerald in the pockets💎

Nice! I had the first THPS on Dreamcast as well.
I still find it really interesting that, according to the official Nintendo Player’s Guide, the blue-colored Bowser in Super Mario Bros. 2 (Japan) is actually Bowser’s twin brother. I wonder what his name is. I’d like to think it’s Howser, or Towser, or maybe Yowser.
Who else is a fan of the Tony Hawk games? Which one’s your favorite?
I got THPS3 with my GameCube on launch day, and had such a great time with it. It’s awesome.
Hot take, but I actually ended up liking THPS3 a lot more than the other GC launch game I bought, Luigi’s Mansion.

Yeah, I’ve definitely never played it without the sound card. I would have gotten sick of that so quickly. 😆

The revisionism of Sonic online lately has been so weird. Yeah, everyone’s entitled to their own opinion, but I’ve seen so many trying to push that Mania, SA2, and even the classics are bad and Sonic 2006 is actually a masterpiece because of “ambition” or “potential” or whatever.

My favorite characters kind of changed a lot as a kid. I remember it was Ken for a while, then for a bit it was E. Honda because I kept spamming the hundred hand slap and cheesing my friends with it. 😆
In the end though, my main became Cammy.
Super Street Fighter II is such an unbelievably special game to me. I played the console ports of this with friends for so many countless hours, and this (and the other versions of Street Fighter II) was always the game I played the most at the arcades.

That’s a good point. Although, that’s a slightly different case since that game was never cancelled, it just got officially localized and released outside of Japan many years later. Still really cool that they did that, though.

Oh yeah, I forgot all about that! Gotta go check those out.
Star Fox 2 is such a fascinating piece of Nintendo history. I think it’s the only time they officially released a cancelled game 20+ years later. I can’t think of a game that pushed a system more. It runs so sluggishly though that it makes it a bit hard to fully appreciate. 😆

Yeah definitely. G Sonic is such a weird name for a game.

In a few weeks time, I'll reveal whether these are indeed... different games.

Oh interesting! I don’t think I ever knew that, but that explains Robotnik holding the emerald in the game’s intro.

Yeah, “Chaos” does sound cool even if it has nothing to do with the game at all, except for having Chaos Emeralds I guess?
At least with Sonic Triple Trouble, the name very much played into the theme of that game.
You can see more cool Sonic tidbits like this in my latest video! 😁

I still don’t get why they renamed Sonic & Tails to Sonic Chaos. Don’t get me wrong, Sonic Chaos is a cool name and it’s what I grew up with. It just seemed unnecessary, especially considering Sonic & Knuckles was released the following year, so they had kind of a theme going on.

The early Sonic games have many differences between their releases in different regions, and I'll be looking at some of those differences between the Japanese and western releases of Sonic games. Hope you enjoy!
