It was a scary moment when these horse owners noticed smoke coming from their trailer while travelling down the M1 motorway. Luckily, the smoke was caused by a failed bearing and there was no fire. Crews quickly reined in a roadside rescue, escorting them to a safe location.

Advice - Grose Valley (Blue Mountains LGA)
If you are in the area of Hat Hill Road or Pulpit Rock, you may experience increased fire activity, embers and smoke.
Embers can be blown ahead of the main fire front, starting spot fires that may threaten property in the area. #nswrfs

Whilst we slept (or attempted to) many men and women were not sleeping, protecting our towns and villages. When you cast an eye to the horizon on Saturday, or reload Fires Near Me for the one hundredth time, think of these courageous people. Think of them. ✌️🙏

Firies spend long hours on firegrounds. When they are finished, there is more work to be done. Refilling the truck with water, fuel, fresh hoses, washing and polishing the tanker. This is done after every shift to make sure the truck is ready to go for its next mission. #nswrfs
