Their thank you, appreciation, the smile on the faces, the expression of the gratitude that came from their heart shows your seeds aren't in vain. We are not stopping until the battle is over. Bring in that your 5h, 1k, 2k and more, it's a freedom someone is in need of.
WE SAID 300. WE DID 300. AND WE’RE NOT DONE! 💃🏽
Sometimes, the impact of our work is best understood by hearing from the people whose lives have been changed. The thank-yous. The relief. The joy of being able to move forward after facing a system that can feel impossible to navigate alone.
There are people who still need legal representation. Families still waiting for answers. Lives that could change if someone steps in to help. So, while we celebrate these 300 lives, we’re asking you to help us reach even further before the year ends.
Your donation could help someone else get the legal support they desperately need.
Help us do more before the year runs out. Donate today:

If 300 lives could be reached, imagine what we could achieve together before December ends.
The target has been met. The mission is far from over.

Tear gas at a memorial site?! Wow! 💔😳
You cannot preach peace, unity, or governance while treating a peaceful memorial gathering like a criminal enterprise.
Remembering those who lost their lives is not a crime; it is fundamental human right.
Deploying toxic gas against citizens trying to pay respects at the lekki toll gate shows that the state’s intolerance for ACCOUNTABILITY hasn’t changed.
@LagosPoliceNG you can fire all the tear gas you want, but you cannot legislate away history or erase the demand for justice.
What happens to a right when people become afraid to exercise it?
A protester should not have to choose between speaking up and staying safe. A journalist should not have to fear documenting an injustice. A citizen should not have to remain silent because demanding accountability feels dangerous.
Six years ago, Nigerians took to the streets to demand an end to police brutality and a system that failed to protect them. The movement brought questions of police conduct, accountability and citizens’ rights to the forefront. The lives lost and the suffering endured by protesters and their families remain an essential part of that history.
But the significance of #EndSARS extends beyond October 2020. It speaks to the kind of civic space we have today: one where people must be able to question authority, organize, express dissent and demand change without unlawful intimidation or violence.
A right that exists on paper but cannot be exercised safely is a right under threat.
Remembering #EndSARS means knowing our rights, standing with those whose rights are violated, and insisting that institutions entrusted with protecting the public are held accountable.
Six years on, the work of protecting civic space belongs to all of us.
Remember #EndSARS. Defend the civic space. Demand accountability.

Six years later, we remember the lives lost, the lives changed forever, and the justice still owed.
The #EndSARS protests were a call for an end to police brutality, unlawful arrests, extortion and the abuse of power. Nigerians took to the streets demanding a country where their rights, dignity and lives would be respected.
But on 20 October 2020, that demand for change was met with violence. Six years later, we must continue to remember the victims, acknowledge the suffering of survivors and families, and insist that allegations of human rights violations are investigated and addressed.
Six years on, remembrance must mean more than looking back. It must mean continuing to demand truth, accountability, meaningful police reform, and protection for the fundamental rights of every Nigerian.
We remember. We refuse to forget.

This is part of the problems that warranted the #EndSARS protests which were a call for an end to police brutality, unlawful arrests, extortion and the abuse of power. Nigerians took to the streets demanding a country where their rights, dignity and lives would be respected.
Just look at these police officers! 💔🤦🏻♀️

Keep up the good work. The year isn’t over and we can still do more with your continued efforts and support 🙏.
We set a target to help secure the release of 300 poor and wrongly imprisoned people in 2026. Today, we’re proud to say we’ve reached it before the year is even over.
Behind this milestone are people who needed legal support they could not afford. People whose freedom depended on someone stepping in. People who deserved the opportunity to have their cases heard and their rights protected.

We’ve reached 300. Now, imagine how many more lives we can touch before the year ends.
Thank you to every donor, partner, volunteer, and supporter who has helped make this possible. This milestone belongs to you, too.
The work continues. The mission continues. And so does the fight for justice.

Godwin (not his real name) is a magician/illusionist in Nigeria. His work involves creating illusions for audiences, using props that help bring his performances to life. But on 23 March 2026, something he used for his craft landed him in police custody. Godwin was returning from a show when police officers flagged him down and noticed paper dollars among his belongings. The notes, which he had purchased from AliExpress and painted for use in his performances, were props for his magic act.
