This is so refreshing. I hope marks a new era in recognition and support for the planning profession. This will help us all achieve the growth, sustainability and community benefits we all strive to deliver.
Thank you
@mtpennycook @RTPIPlanners @VictoriaRTPI @rtpipres
Planners will play a vital role in delivering the homes and infrastructure the country needs in the years ahead.
We value the profession and look forward to working with it to deliver change.

Insistent gentleman gave up his seat to me on the tram this morning. I’m now trying to work out whether I look pregnant or old and which is the least worse of the two…

Great to start the Convention of the North with stories from pupils from 9 schools across the North.
Great to give voice to the concerns and aspirations of the future (and today). Requests are clear and simple - free nutritious schools meals, mental health support in all schools
Great event launching the new book ‘Planning in a Failing State’ by @OlivierSykes and @JohnSturzaker.
It is fabulous to have documented the last 20 yrs of planning tinkering. Hopefully it will allow future planners to learn lessons of this time. Maybe some politicians too…
Great to hear positive noises about strategic planning.
Govt signs off Greater Manchester’s Places for Everyone placenorthwest.co.uk/govt-si… The examination of the spatial framework for nine of the 10 local authorities in the city region has completed. Reaction to follow
Congratulations to everyone who contributed over many years to get this plan for Greater Manchester. The vision and direction will provide for the investment and development the city needs for a prosperous future. @greatermcr greatermanchester-ca.gov.uk/…
I enjoyed The Traitors. It made me think about loyalty & working with people you like.
We want to spend time with people we like. But likability doesn’t always mean they are good at their job.
We need to recognise this & help them develop. If we don’t then we are the Traitors.
Moving playing today with @RRFBandDrums at 50th commemoration of M62 coach bombing. Poignant as Stormont returns. Hope for the future.

I am only sorry in running for the train I didn’t get chance to take a photo.
In Sheffield train station I have just seen a duck.
Is this the most Sheffield thing ever??!!
Good discussion today led by @AvisonYoung
@nicolahrigby summarised the business community response to the HS2 situation as “slightly miffed but remaining positive”.
A wonderfully Manc description of so many things.
