At a time when folks desperately need access to care, our for-profit system is closing hundreds of rural hospitals bc they're not "profitable" enough. We can do better. We have to: #MedicareForAll healthoverprofit.org/2020/03…

My son, Allen, died 5/11/2018 after being denied SSD and having to ration his insulin. @PhRMA is allowed to gouge insulin prices in the US, other countries have fixed prices. His insulin was $2k/month. I watched him die and now live without him. The system is broken

My son, Allen. He died 5/11/18 because he had to ration his insulin. He was healthy when he had access to insulin. I watched him wither away and die because of corporate greed. This needs to stop. Now. #insulin4all

Please share or tag someone who can share their story - they deserve to be heard. It’s not an American Healthcare story, but is may as well be an American Horror story.

According to ZipRecruiter, the average American orthopedic surgeon earns between $340k and $390k a year. This is a challenging profession - requiring great intelligence, training, and dedication. In a system that works for you - how would physical compensation be calculated?
Do you believe there is any room for a for-profit company (insurance, hospital, private practice, etc.) in a functional healthcare system that works for all?

This is why we fight! #healthcarereform
Your daily reminder that the insulin I’ve used for 23 years, Humalog, has gone from $21 a vial to $278 a vial with no changes to the insulin or even the packaging. That’s a 1200% increase on a hormone every human requires to live, but my body can’t make. I die in 48 hours w/o it

This is fair - and yet even with crocs, spiders, snakes, and all forms of natural horror, Australians still live 4.5% longer than Americans! (Per NationMaster)

In 2017, Americans spent 3.5 trillion dollars on healthcare. That’s enough to purchase everything made in Australia - for three years! Help us spread the word that something has got to change for the better. Here is one trillion dollars visualized:

Despite spending more than anybody else, Americans still have the lowest life expectancy out of these developed countries. We lead in so many ways - it’s time to improve care for all!
*This graphic is a bit old, but still proves a point* If you stacked up the 3.5 trillion dollars a year we spend on healtcare, you’d be 80% to the moon! Here are a few other things you could do:
