I have a hot take about how charities and nonprofits not only do the opposite of organizing and community building, but are there to prevent it. I haven’t fleshed out the language yet, but the conversation around accepting bigotry and slurs while volunteering got me to thinking.

my loving wife: It's national coming out day, and it sure is coming out of you

We are change agents.
Also, we’re nonpartisan, apolitical, non-confrontational, and we don’t file lawsuits.
a question we should all wonder, where would we be without hollaback girl? thank you @gwenstefani
tweets about spd dissolving are making me so hopeful for Seattle. i think, they share an acronym, may as well share a fate 😘👋🏻🚔
Can’t wait to be at a point in my career where I can ask someone paid a third my salary for the same thing every month, ignore it when it’s delivered, then ask for the same thing a month later.
The phrase “can we change this?” makes me so irrationally irate when the person using the phrase means “can you change this?”.
Why are you asking us if we can change it? Are you going to change it? Am I? Say what you mean!!

I feel like culturally no one ever talks about that time they invited Lupe Fiasco to perform at an official event celebrating Obama's inauguration in 2013 because he was from Chicago too and they had to forcibly remove him from stage after he performed his song Words I Never Said which included the lyrics "I really think the war on terror is a bunch of bullshit, just a poor excuse for you to use up all your bullets" as well as "Gaza Strip was getting bombed, Obama didn't say shit. That's why I ain't vote for him, next one either..." And ended with a rant about how much he hated Obama.
A year before, in a CBS interview he'd described Obama as the "biggest terrorist in the history of the United States of America".
Iconic and savage.
