1. Which project(s) are these “containers” for? NIPP? Without proper audit, we may just be releasing scrap.
2. Control cards, Electronics, relays, capacitors, VTs, CTs and other power engineering equipment from 20years ago, if not obsolete, firmware will be outdated and mostly useless.
3. These things require climate control storage systems and not containers that have been under scorching sun and rain.
3. About 13 years ago, I was called into an effort to get some stranded power equipment released, inspected and certify for use. It all died down after some time with no tailwind
4. At this point, it is too late IMHO!
This is one thing that Yar Adua government got wrong.
President Tinubu directs urgent clearance of over 300 containers of stranded electricity equipment, some held at ports for 20 years.

Nigeria to Increase Transmission Capacity from 5,000MW to 19,000MW in Two Years - Power Minister
The Minister of Power, Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe, has disclosed that over 300 containers of power equipment are stranded at various ports across the country, with some left unclaimed for 15 to 20 years.
Speaking at the Federal Executive Council meeting presided over by President Tinubu, Tegbe said transmission capacity will be increased from 5,000MW to 19,000MW within the next two years.
😭
Congratulations!
Wishing you all the best in your studies, @FotoNugget.
Omo. See as you ronu 😭
FG does not fund the project, funding is by the private sector, plus SEDC and the SE State governments,
Reason why some of you guys behave this way is what I don't understand,
Tomorrow now, some of you will try to campaign with "marginalisation" and people will point to this post, when in actual sense, FG did not invest anything.

Export controls is not what makes you a hegemon. What is the basis of the export controls on Japan? Does Japan export to every one freely? Have they not had export controls on other countries including China? Do they want to also be a hegemon? Nigeria restricts trade within West Africa here, Are we a hegemon?
Anything you see China doing can be directly linked to what it deems as interference into its internal affairs, keyword “internal” not external interests.
Based on the trade China does with Nigeria and the rest of Africa today, if they wanted to interfere in our January elections, they have the leverage to back a candidate - financially, diplomatically or otherwise. In Brazil where elections just concluded and where China has a lot of business interests and leverage, did you hear of any Chinese interference? But you saw American politicians widely interested in Bolsonaro, and granting him and his family visas to escape prosecution.
That is hegemony. China, today, is already powerful enough to try to decide the fate and/or political direction of many countries, that they’re not already doing it tells you that they have different priorities.
The world has rarely been under a hegemony, and it won’t be after the U.S. world order is fully broken, it’s that simple
"China does not want to be a hegemon..."
Meanwhile they weaponise their markets and technology like crazy. They've had export controls targeted at the Japanese and Koreans for as long as possible, block out access to their markets and prevent technology transfer to developing countries.
Meanwhile they've been milking developing status under the most favoured nation clause.

He has been interacting with Nigerians for 4 straight years. I am sorry to tell you, this should not be a close election. Put the whole of his campaign, personality and vision together and you cannot confidently say that he is not the best option on the ballot.
