That thing when you're watching a badly lit series on your iPad & the whole time you catch glimpses of your own intense facial expressions

Everyone wonβt agree, but retirement should be mandatory at 50 so people have real time to enjoy life.
Iβm 33, and I donβt want to spend another 35 years working just to feel free at the end.

"Earning" a Living!
We have accepted the premise that human beings must "pay" to exist on the planet they were born onto. We are the only species on Earth that pays to live. We trade the healthiest, most vital years of our lives (20s through 50s) performing repetitive tasks, often in artificial lighting, just to secure food and shelter.. things that nature provides us for free, but civilization has paywalled.

i really will never get over this shot because what do you mean youβre looking out the window at your dead wifeβs grave while standing next to your girlfriend who is part of a hivemind that holds all of your wifeβs memories but is also responsible for her death.

The weird thing about reading so much as a child and gaining a huge vocabulary from that is I can't define a lot of the words I use, I just...know that they would fit correctly in a specific sentence? Does anyone else experience that?

I don't know if this Lucy Letby is innocent or guilty but when she was found guilty at 1st thousands and thousands of people said she should be hung etc ... this case alone is how we don't have the death penalty anymore

This is not why I so viscerally reject AI. Iβm not terrified of it, Iβm angry. Iβm angry at how it devalues creative and intellectual labor and accelerates its theft, how it steers us toward a consensus of averages, its climate and water impact, how it hyper-enriches billionaires

Landlords like to act as if theyβre simply receiving compensation for a service when the reality is that theyβre hoarding a basic need and profiting off of functional extortion - giving you an option between paying them or living on the street and pretending theyβre benevolent.
