🚨 Thor P2 TESTED — Stock Firmware vs Harlo OS
I ran both through full 24-hour audits checking:
⚡ Real wall power
⛏️ Pool-verified hashrate
📊 Dashboard vs actual work
đź‘€ Any suspicious/fake hashrate?
🔥 Which firmware actually wins?
The results were a lot closer than I expected.
Would you run Stock or Harlo OS on the Thor P2?

The new MagicMiner HQ01 packs 30Ă— BM1370 chips, runs at ~30 to 50 TH/s. All in a compact, surprisingly quiet build.

The Thor P2 was released in late July 2026, making it a very recent model. It is equipped with two next-generation BM1373 chips, rated at 10 TH/s.
First off, the machine arrived very well-packaged in a foam insert, so everything was stable and secure for transport! Inside the box were the Thor P2 and the power supply model GM-H250S12 manufactured by ShenZhen Qilink Tech. It's the same power supply model I received with my @hammerminer BC04s, so I already know it works very well; I haven't had any problems with this model so far.
The first thing we notice is the large ARGB fan mounted on a 120mm eight-heat-pipe tower, covering practically the entire front of the Thor P2. It is the largest pre-installed fan I have ever seen on a desktop miner, so it looks impressive. There is no fan at the rear, but there is plenty of space to add one if needed. A great design improvement is that the XT60 connector and Ethernet port are located at the bottom right. Previous designs placed these components at the top, making cable management a nightmare when using multiple machines; having them at the bottom now makes cable management much easier! The screen is a LilyGO T-Display S3, a well-known ESP32 module. This is an important point, as it is the same board that runs the operating system, not just the display !
The initial startup of the Thor P2 is standard; if you are familiar with the startup process of a NerdQaxe, it is exactly the same procedure—though the Thor P2 came with Thor OS installed when we received the unit. That said, Helium Deploy is now shipping it with Harlo OS—@HarloLabs new operating system—pre-installed!
Once the initial startup procedure is complete, you land directly in Thor OS. It is very easy to navigate, and the settings offer three mining modes: Normal, Overclock, and Custom. "Overclock" mode is selected by default, so, this is the mode that should give us the advertised 10 TH/s.
I conducted the first four days of testing in Overclock mode. After three days, the average hashrate at the pool was 9.8 TH/s, and power consumption at the wall read 155 watts. ASIC temperatures were around 45 degrees Celsius and VRM temperatures around 60 degrees Celsius; so far, so good—the efficiency is actually quite impressive. On the fourth day of Overclock mode, the outside temperature was very high, which turned out to be a great opportunity to check the machine's thermal performance! ASIC temperatures remained at safe levels between 60 and 65. However, the VRM temperature climbed to 83°C. While not dangerous, that is a temperature that requires monitoring. At that point, the fan was in "automatic" mode and not running at 100%, so I switched to manual mode and set the fan to 100%; the VRM temperature returned to 72 degrees Celsius, a normal level! So, mission accomplished for the large fan—it successfully cools all sensitive components, even in very hot conditions!
I carried out the remaining tests—spanning three days—in normal mode. This mode drops the hashrate to approximately 4 TH/s with a power draw of 74 watts at the wall. The ASIC temperatures held around 30°C and the VRM at 40°C with the fan set to manual mode at 100%. So, the automatic fan control mode can be used without any issues. However, I’ve seen other influencers report higher figures for "Normal" mode—around 6 TH/s—so the unit I received was likely configured differently. In any case, I see no point in using that mode, as it works very well in "Overclock" mode, even in hot external temperatures.
A reminder: using "Custom mode" to push the overclock higher than the "Overclock" mode defined by @hammerminer is done at your own risk and will void your warranty if problems arise.
I ran tests in the living room all week; regarding noise, it is very quiet (Around 45 dB) and doesn't disrupt normal activities like watching TV, listening to music, or talking with others.
As for the heat output, it is very mild—a single machine wouldn't be enough to heat a room! Models with the BM1373 chip definitely move away from the idea of heat recovery, though—let's be honest—that isn't really a problem.
One cool feature of the THOR P2 is the ARGB fan, which allows you to change light colors and light modes. It provides lovely ambient lighting in the living room—I love it, and this unit is staying in my living room for that reason alone!
Final verdict: This machine is definitely suitable for mining at home or in an apartment without issues! It is powerful, energy-efficient, and very quiet—three vital criteria for a viable home mining machine!
The machine currently sells for $449 on the @HeliumDeploy website—a bit pricier than other models in the same category on the site—but one thing I can say from experience is that @hammerminer is well known for the quality of the machines they build; they use high-quality components, so you can be sure you're getting good value for your money! I definitely recommend it!

The Thor P2 has been added to my fleet, so I’ll be able to track its performance and share the results with everyone—if any issues arise, I’ll let it know!
In the meantime, keep hashing! ⛏️

Whats cool about it?
- Built from the ground up
- No license requirements like ESP-Miner
- Remote manage your network of miners
- A single firmware image loads onto different miners
- No limits on overclocking (blow a unit up if you want!)
- Currently supports: BM1370,BM1373,BM1491 and Volk scrypt chips. More algos coming soon
- Quad, Hex, Octo pool multimining
And more!

Why the name HarloLabs?
The name HarloLabs is inspired by Hal Finney (Harold Thomas Finney II), one of the earliest pioneers in Bitcoin history.
Hal was one of the first people to download and run Bitcoin after Satoshi Nakamoto and was the recipient of the first-ever Bitcoin transaction between two people, sent directly from Satoshi.
His early involvement represents exactly what we want HarloLabs to stand for: building, experimenting, innovating, and believing in new technology before the rest of the world sees its potential.
HARLO is our tribute to that pioneering spirit, while Labs represents what comes next, researching, designing, and building the next generation of mining hardware.
Hals famous quote is: “If you want to change the world, don't protest. Write code!”
Unfortunately Hal passed away on August 28, 2014, from ALS.
From the earliest days of Bitcoin to the next generation of ASICs.
Welcome to HarloLabs.

"Assembled in the USA" and sub-10 J/TH efficiency are big claims in this industry.
We'd love to see a walkthrough of the actual American assembly line.
Efficiency numbers pulled from UI displays are notoriously optimistic & rarely match on wall measurements. Real efficiency claims should hold up to a bench test, not just a screen.
Who has the receipts? 📼⚡
