here's the story and why we think this matters 🧵
cloud meeting AI:
- audio uploaded to servers
- processed by third-party APIs
- stored in databases you dont control
- one ToS update away from anything
on-device AI:
- audio stays on your phone
- runs on your Neural Engine
- data never leaves
- nothing to breach
every major AI meeting tool has the same model: upload your audio, process it on their servers, charge you per minute.
your private conversations are literally their compute cost.
there's another way: run everything on the user's device. per-user server cost: zero.
your meeting notes probably contain strategy discussions, personnel stuff, client confidentials, candid opinions about projects people haven't shipped yet.
and it's all sitting on a cloud server you've never audited.
just... something to sit with for a second.
every meeting AI tool is a recorder with a notes tab tacked on.
