@Kleza_108

I bet no one saw this coming...
A 1996 Japanese No Rarity Computer Search PSA 10 was listed for $350,000 on @PSAcard's eBay store and sold for $250,000 via an accepted offer.
That's a wild price for a Trainer card. Looks like everything is computer. Thoughts on this?

Been waiting forever to finally get this announced and made public! When I first acquired this Topps Chrome Pokemon Sparkle Kabuto card about 6 months ago, the original intention was to grade it and keep it locked in my collection.
But one night I was starring at my cards, and had a thought pop into my head. I reached out to the GOAT @KabutoKing_ and proposed the idea of him signing it and auctioning it off for charity. He was super gracious with his time and loved the idea.
I am blessed beyond measure, and there are a lot of folks out there who are really hurting financially. Collecting my favorite childhood Pokemon cards became a really fun avenue and hobby with my 4 year old son. And I know a lot of children out there are not as fortunate. I see the struggle daily.
Well 6 months forward, it is finally the time to be able to auction this off and donate all proceeds to local charities to me!
Look forward to November 6th in @GoldinCo next elite TCG auction!
ALL PROCEEDS will be donated to charities benefitting underprivileged youth!
Topps Chrome Sparkle Kabuto ✨
The most stunning Kabuto that exists. Only 13 copies in ANY condition graded by PSA.
@island_trader1 generously sent this card for me to sign and send to @GoldinCo.
100% of proceeds will go toward supporting underprivileged youth in Key West, Florida. Exact charity distribution will be outlined soon.
Will be available to bid on at @GoldinCo in the near future 👑

True Charizard rookie…
CGC 9 sold for 300k a few months ago, PSA 10 would do well over 1M without a doubt
For years, this was considered Charizard’s rookie card.
Topsun was dated 1995, putting it before Carddass and the Pokémon TCG.
Then in January 2021, the POP 1 PSA 10 No Number Blue Back Charizard sold for a record $493,230.
Then people started digging. 1995 was the Pokémon copyright date, not the card’s release date. Topsun was made by Japanese candy company Top-Seika, which didn’t receive its Pokémon licence until 1997.
The “first Charizard” narrative collapsed overnight.
Three months later, another PSA 10 sold for around $200,000. Nearly $290k wiped off the price in three months.
Smpratte called it The Biggest Loss in Pokémon History.

Im just a pokebro and honestly no bond expert by any means but please help me understand this 20Y US treasuries @ 5.3%
Assuming S&P @ 7800 now
In 2 years thats 8650 thats the “risk free equivalent… so you wiuld need equities to outperform 8650 materially to justify the extra risk on equities.
Everyone on CT bearish on bonds at multi decade lows… maybe it a good time to start building a position?
Legit question and curious… in my head i feel worst case it just stays down here but eventually it’ll come back.
Keiji Kinebuchi
For over three decades, these cards sat at the absolute bottom of the market with almost nobody paying attention to them. Just last year, even cards like the Ivy Pikachu Ken Sugimori error could still be picked up on eBay for under $20. These weren’t “discovered” yesterday — they were simply ignored for 30 years while the hobby focused on easier-to-grade cards and modern PSA 10 chases.
The reality is that many early CoroCoro promos and glossy promos are the earliest Pokémon promos ever released and some of the most condition-scarce cards in the hobby. High grades barely exist because these cards were printed cheaply, handled heavily, and almost never survived in clean condition. That condition scarcity is one of the main reasons they stayed overlooked for so long. What people are calling “overhype” today looks more like the market finally correcting three decades of neglect and recognizing the historical significance and true scarcity of these cards.

Maybe I am a larper.
I had no idea the first Pokémon Trading Cards came from within a Japanese magazine called Corocoro Comic #223… they were a “glossy” Pikachu & Jigglypuff released October 15, 1996 that literally had to be peeled from the sheet inside the book
And when I found out that there are currently ZERO PSA 10s of the Pikachu (basically his rookie card), I began my Odyssey.
Over the past 6 months, I spent millions of dollars & hundreds of hours chasing a Pokémon card that doesn’t exist. I even tried to peel the two cards from a Corocoro 223 myself, thus destroying the value of the $150,000 book (i.e. when you remove the cards, the book is considered “incomplete”)
I submitted the Pikachu & Jigglypuff that I peeled for grading, and received a PSA 2 and a PSA 5… I was shattered. Turns out, 30 years of being glued to a sheet sandwiched between hundreds of pages is the reason these cards are so hard to grade. Out of the 1400+ Pikachus that have been graded, not a SINGLE ONE has ever received a perfect 10. It’s statistically impossible, and after peeling for them myself, I see why…
The 57 minute movie I posted on YouTube yesterday is a story that every collector can relate to: obsession —> pursuit —> failure —> regrounding —> ascent. And now, the ascent begins
I’m still on the hunt to obtain what I consider to be the most valuable Pokémon card in the world, and on July 30th at 9:30pm EST, I’ll be peeling a PERFECT Corocoro 223 sheet that could contain the first and only PSA 10 Pikachu #1 … live on my YouTube channel. Save the date 🗓️

No Rarity Pop Report 11/07/26
Will do it about every month as bi-monthly the difference feels too small and provides less data actually.
- No New PSA 10s
- 11% if all graded cards are PSA 8/9 and above.
- Grading paced increased in June compared to May.
- Charizard PSA 9/8 dropped not sure if it was a data error or a reclassification.
I expect grading to stay around this pace for say a month or so. No Rarity popularity increased in December/January which aligns with PSA grading coming back around now.

Lots of "we're still early in OP" posts.
I've been buying this for 2 years, you're not early.
There are some key differences between OP markets and Pokemon markets.
While I'm INCREDIBLY bullish on OP, there are significant factors that highlight that $ is the key component of OP collecting vs nostalgia and the significant and historic core foundations that are shared by a significant number of those in the hobby in Pokemon.
This impact buying decisions, awareness and total prices.
OP will be the 2nd strongest TCG, I have no doubt, and there's a tremendous amount of value in the space to both achieve now and achieve in the long run.
But some of the card pricing still feels off, I think it feels too high comparatively speaking, I don't think some of the totals make sense.
They make sense in way of that supply is low, demand is high and people are making outsized returns in no time whatsoever.
I remember days when Champ cards were put in binders or decks, no one attended tournaments trying to buy promos, manga deck running, you couldn't get people to take cards let alone charge them for it.
Things are very different now but they're different because of the $ and the opportunity OP represents. OP markets go very quiet during downturns, they absorb all attention in upswings.
People like OP because it's aggressively bullish. When the foundations for investors and markets are built on that it's going to be more volatile and it's less stable.
Buy OP, make sure you have exposure, but appreciate that you're not early, there's cards that I think are still mispriced, and you're susceptible to some of the largest corrections you'll see in the TCG space if you plan to get involved. (aside from DBZ, but why the fuck would you buy that.)

Glossy Ivy Pika pop growth
Since I'd previously made a pseudo-forecast on graded pop growth for the card, figued I might as well track it.
I realized I already took a lot of SS of the Glossy Ivy Pika pop charts lol, collated in a table and dumped into Grok.
Think moving forward I'll collect it once a week/fixed gaps and update on twitter every month.
I might add pudding n non glossy pika at some point, i just need to search my phone pics lol
Notes:
1. PSA 1 in chart is 1 n 1.5
2. Individual grade pops can drop as the charts are being cleaned up between glossy and non glossy mix ups.
3. QT forecast is uneducated speculation with no basis and just a thought exercise based on my bad gut and reading about ancient mew graded growth
Corocoro Pikachu Price Predictions ?! Hypothetical 100m Market Cap Breakown.
Note this is NFA - there is absolutely no basis to this, and simply a thought exercise based off another post I saw earlier (in RT). I highly doubt they reach 1b market cap, but who knows!
I reckon we could see population doubling if these get more hyped, but probably not much more. There is also a lot of mislabelling this is slowly getting cleaned up.
Ivy Pika is interesting because it's one of those pop charts where it is pretty backloaded (I was being generous on grade predictions) - people are literally grading everything they can get their hands on. I think this shows theres value/difference in every grade and recognition of its signficance as first ever Pokemon TCG release.
I really believe eventually this is almost a 10k floor card at least. What are your predictions? Try doing the thought exercise yourself with your own assumptions and feel free to share!
