The Part of Design Nobody Talks About
Today, I just wanted to share what my design
process looks like when I’m creating layouts.
Honestly, it’s chaotic.
Finding the right solution for even one section
can take hours, sometimes a whole day.
It’s a lot of experimenting, iterating, and trial
and error just to land on something that feels
right, and that can be frustrating.
There are moments when I start doubting myself,
wondering if I’m even good enough.
Then, suddenly, everything clicks. I find the solution and think, “Man... I’m actually good at this.” 😂The mood shift is wild.
One thing I’ve learned is that you just know
when it’s right. It’s hard to explain, but you feel it,
that mix of comfort, satisfaction, and excitement
that says, “Yep, this is the one.”
Every creative knows exactly what I mean.
For me, the hero section and homepage usually
take the most time and energy. Once those are
solved, the rest of the design tends to flow
more naturally.
Creative work takes far more time than
most people realize. When I see amazing work
from other designers, I often think, “Only God
knows how many hours went into this.”
It also makes sense why creatives get frustrated
when their work is copied, after spending days
or weeks refining something, seeing it duplicated
in minutes without credit is tough.
Anyways, I’ve finally finished the desktop version
of the OR Architecture website. Time to move on
to the mobile responsive design.
Thanks for reading through and have a lovely weekend.

Small interactions. Real UX value.

I got a contract on Upwork to redesign the flow and interface of an app, while still retaining the brand feel.
I restructured the experience to be more intuitive and user-friendly. It made sense. It worked.
Then we went ahead to do user research.
And that’s when we realised something.
The app felt too techy for the industry it was in.
So we went back to the drawing board.
This time, the structure was solid. The foundation was there. But the interface? It didn’t feel like where it belonged.
That phase gave me sleepless nights.
At first, I kept playing around with colours. Trying different palettes. Adjusting tones. Going back and forth. Hoping something would click.
Nothing did.
After a good number of front and back, I had to pause and rethink my approach.
Instead of asking, “What colours work?”
I started asking, “What kind of branding would truly resonate with this platform and its audience?”
That shift changed everything.
It felt like wandering in a desert and finally finding water.
Because once the brand direction became clear, the interface started designing itself.
Sometimes the problem isn’t the layout.
Sometimes it’s the identity.
