Shout out to anyone* in Melbourne that wants a game of cricket tomorrow night. My team is struggling to get 11 covid free, fit players on the park. Warm up starts at 6.30pm at Marvel Stadium.
Free beer afterwards, potentially out of a large cup.
DM if keen
*no test cricketers

.@bbl can’t attract the best OS players in the game for the whole comp due to “conflicting schedules” (aka we pay less and it goes for too long)
But when 1 of our local Aussie stars unexpectedly becomes available and wants to play, CA says he can’t 🤨
Ch7 & Fox must be thrilled

England’s 2nd innings in Melbourne (27.4 overs) has lasted three fewer overs than their 2nd innings on the much maligned (by some of their fans/journalists) pitch in Ahmedabad in February (30.4 overs).

‘Australia’s Olympians got a $20,000 bonus for a gold medal, our Paralympians get nothing’
Staggering.
Paralympians + Olympians are equally amazing! Equity demands change.

What a moment for Australia’s refugee community when South Sudanese-Aussie Thomas Deng captained the Olyroos to victory over Argentina.
Deng’s family fled the Sudan civil war to Kenya & he moved to Australia when he was 6.

A tale of two cities...I’ve avoided the east vs west argument but surely this is ridiculous. This doesn’t look like we ‘are in it together’ at all!

Hollywood celebs on their leisure boats in the harbour during lockdown, elite schoolboys at Joeys getting priority vaccination: nothing to see there, folks. But if you’re in southwest Sydney, expect mounted police, dog units and helicopters from 7am. Have we lost the plot?

Andy Howe has a remarkable list of stats across Australian football. Has done an amazing job collating & trying to ensure our history is remembered. Even has the non-A international games commentary here too. Every game matters & so does our history. Great stuff @AndyHowe_statto

I'm sorry but you can't just throw money at everything and expect it to be all fine. It's not that hard to change the date of Australia Day and this time take into account how the original owners of the land feel about it because we all know that didn't happen in the past.

I think for ScoMo to say to CA "a bit more focus on cricket and a little less focus on politics" is pretty petty. CA could say the same thing vice versa but what's that going to solve. Someone needs to take action to figure out what works for us as a nation. Well said mate 👍🏾
@ScottMorrisonMP read the room Mr Prime Minister. @CricketAus are leading the way because your government won’t. There’ll be millions of kids watching our @BBL games on the 26th January, and they’ll see us taking a knee against racism, and promoting inclusion for all. Take note.
