After 5 years of giving up about the dream of moving out of my country , web3 bring back the dream of wanting to leave again. Switzerland has uncovered a network of illegal betting cash-in points generating an estimated $380M a year.
An SRF investigation found more than 100 locations across the country where players can deposit cash into unlicensed online betting platforms.
A journalist even tested the system: he opened an account at a bar near Lucerne, deposited CHF 100 in cash in just two minutes, and withdrew the remaining balance a week later without any issues.
These operations reportedly run through bars, kiosks, and restaurants, with couriers moving cash between locations and operators.
Authorities believe international criminal networks are behind the business, but say police lack the resources to tackle it.
