Some super cool work from the @HeveranChelsea lab where they used Neurospora and/or the bacterium Sporosarcina pasteurii to make biomineralized "engineered living materials" from mycelia that resemble bone geometry. So Neurospora can be used to make concrete-like structures!

Our next steps will be supported by the #nsfcareer!!! YAY! We will use novel imaging and metabolomics tools to investigate osteocyte interactions with bone matrix and impacts on fracture toughness. We will also introduce nontraditional MSU students to research! Can't wait.
