It has started. Rodri and Flick’s ideologies are the biggest mismatch in football history. Rodri comes from the Spanish, Pep school of football, with an ideology that emphasises control, slow build-up and compactness out of possession. Flick, on the other hand, doesn’t understand control. His football is all-out attack, fast build-up, an ultra-high defensive line and extremely vertical passes. There’s no way both were ever going to work together. At some point, one has to leave for the other. It’s either Rodri leaves or Flick leaves. It’s up to Barça to decide who they want to commit their loyalty to.
