Your Christmas tree is a stone-"cold" killer of ticks! Our good-news story of the powerful combination of low temperatures and balsam fir essential oils to control black-legged ticks.
Paper is out! Another great collaboration with the Adamo lab and @LVFerguson on the power of essential oils and the effect of temperature at killing ticks! @acadiaresearch @DalhousieU @AcadiaU

Sometimes we collect mosquitoes in pretty interesting places! Some of the best are a 🚽toilet graveyard, ⛴ a washed-up boat, a truck 🛻, and a waterfall🌊

[1/2] Did you know that there are over 20 species of mosquitoes in Nova Scotia? Using traces of DNA in the environment, we can target and identify which mosquito larvae are present in a body of water, such as ponds, roadside ditches, and tires.
