The scars on Captain Smit Machchaar, the Hindu DubaiAir pilot are representative of a larger civilizational metaphor. - They represent the valiant victory of the Hindu rulers Bappa Rawal and Nagabhatta in Sindh against the Umayyad Caliphates as Charles Martel was defeating the same Umayyads in France. - They represent the heroic resistance of Prithviraj Chauhan against the Ghorid Islamists as Spain was fighting its Reconquista against the Muslim Al-mohad forces. - They represent the endless wounds of the Hindu Marathas in the East as the Habsburgs and Poles were breaking the Siege of Vienna in the West. For over 1500 years, Hindu polities in Asia and Christian polities in Europe faced successive waves of Islamic expansion and answered with protracted military and cultural resistance- simultaneously. The worlds of the Hindus and of Europe have been linked by this shared historical experience far longer, and more deeply, than many Euro-centrists or their derivates here, the "heritage Americans" acknowledge. Captain Machchhar’s scars make that older interconnection visible again in the present.

For someone who is such a senior journalist at @nytimes, its a pity that @NickKristof doesn't know that ZERO comes from the Hindus of India. Pingala’s Chandaḥśāstra (also called Chandah Sutra), traditionally dated to roughly the 3rd–2nd century BCE first mentions the concept of ZERO. Even the Arabs acknowledged that when they first started using it. But then again, given NY Times' historical and continuous bias against Hindus and India, Kristof's ignorance is understandable.
I'll give RFK Jr. a 0 for this, using Arabic numerals, or perhaps a "zero," noting that the English word "zero" comes from the Arabic "sifr."

A legal immigrant who dots his Is and crosses his Ts is not acceptable because he is Hindu. His children born in America are not acceptable because they are Hindu. An illegal is fine as long as he is a Christian. And we are not supposed to call it anti-Hindu hate @megbasham

Today, Hindus celebrate Kojagari Lakshmi Puja. On Kojagari Lakshmi Puja day 80 years ago (1946), Islamists demanding Pakistan attacked the town of Noakhali (present day Bangladesh) and surrounding areas- raping, pillaging, murdering and kidnapping. Time magazine (28 October 1946) reported an estimated 5,000 Hindus killed in eight days and at least 22,550 Hindus were forcibly converted to Islam. Mahatma Gandhi went to Noakhali to beg for peace, but failed miserably. Never forget, never forgive. #SouthAsian #Genocide #Pakistan.

We discussed this phenomenon of unreasonable hate, a couple of weeks ago during our conversation with @GoldInstituteIS. There is more to it than just racism.
What the fuck is this? Is this really Houston, Texas?

Well put John.
Are Hindus trying to change American culture? NO! Do you see Indian flags waving in their front yards, demanding we bend to their harmless culture? NO! But Pakistani Muslims - they parade their flags like there’s no tomorrow. Why are you so determined to rip apart unity between Christians and Hindus? You're so blinded you can't see our true enemy isn’t each other. Your reckless blind hatred its nothing less than handing America over to Islam on a silver platter - and with your own words! @Indic_legendX

Despite a long record of anti-Hindu rhetoric and despite his close associations with radical Islamists that support terrorism against Hindus, Mayor Mamdani is now playing the politics of it perfectly. Full credit for the pivot on a Hindu festival.
This week, I was blessed to join Hindu New Yorkers in Queens celebrating Navratri, Durga Puja, Dashain, and Vijayadashami.  We danced garba, performed aarti, witnessed Sindoor Khela, and honored the Goddess Durga. It was an honor to come together in joy, faith, and community in temples across our city — especially after the attempted mass shooting at a Hindu temple in Illinois last week. May we all join together in our shared responsibility to stand against hate and care for one another. Jai Mata Ki.

Thanks Laura for calling out anti-Hindu hate
At some point we have to be honest about the fact that we have so called Republicans telling people to vote for communist @amyactonoh over Hindu @VivekGRamaswamy because a lot of people on the right have been conditioned to irrationally hate Indians. Imagine voting for a communist just to reinforce your hatred of a brown Indian. I hope the people of Ohio vote for Vivek for Governor.

We never held Pakistan accountable for it or for that matter for the hundreds of other terror attacks and for the death of 2600 of our soldiers in Afghanistan.
At the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, I laid a wreath honoring the victims of the horrific November 26, 2008 terrorist attacks, including six American citizens. We remember those lost, honor the courage of those who responded, and reaffirm the enduring U.S.-India partnership and our shared commitment to combating terrorism.
