๐บ๐ฌ The 2026 #UgandaRugby XVs Champions
A victory wall from elite club games to schoolboy breakthroughs in a single narrative tapestry
What the graphic cannot fully carry is the texture behind the results. The emotional weight of one-point finals, the tactical battles that never show up in scorelines, the emergence of standout individuals who shifted matches without ever being named, and the administrative and financial pressures that shaped participation, especially in womenโs rugby and relegation disputes.
๐ฐ๐ช The 2025/2026 #RugbyKE XVs season in wrap.
@RfcKabras bagged 5x consecutive #KenyaCup trophies and 6x straight #EnterpriseCup2026 titles. Theyโre also 55 straight matches unbeaten, including 2 against #UgandaRugby Clubs
On the womenโs side, @MwambaRFC have won the Womenโs Kenya Cup 5x seasons in a row. Their exact unbeaten tally is unclear, but it spans over 2 seasons
@masese_derrick safe to say: Kenyan Rugby is not competitive ๐คฃ
๐ฟ๐ผ๐ณ๐ฆ๐ฐ๐ช | Jerome Paarwater is not the first coach to lead more than one African menโs national XVs team.
The South African coach has had 2 stints with Kenyaโs Simbas (2013โ2017 + 2023โ2025) before taking charge of Namibia in 2026. Other notable examples include:
Allister Coetzee: Springboks (2016โ2018) + Namibia (2021โ2024)
Peter de Villiers: Springboks (2008โ2011) + Zimbabwe (2018โ2019)

2014: โ Kenya 10โ27 Zimbabwe
2016: โ

2017: โ

2023: โ
Kenya 48โ7 Zimbabwe
2025: โ Kenya 23โ29 Zimbabwe
With Namibia ๐ณ๐ฆ
2026: โ Namibia 33โ36 Zimbabwe
Paarwater helped Kenya reach a then-record World Rugby ranking of 22nd in 2016. His first stint also saw the Simbas come agonisingly close to qualifying for the #RWC2015
๐ณ๐ฆx๐ฟ๐ผ Namibiaโs travelling squad for Saturdayโs Test against Zimbabwe in Harare, under former ๐ฐ๐ช #RugbyKE coach Jerome Paarwater.
Among the notable absentees are Louis van der Westhuizen, Tiaan Swanepoel and Aranos Coetzee, all unavailable due to club commitments with the ๐ฟ๐ฆ Cheetahs.
This looks like a transitional squad, retaining a useful core of 2025 experience while leaving out much of the high-profile overseas contingent in favour of available locally based and developmental players under the new coaching setup.
๐บ๐ฌ Junior Cranes | Send-Off for #Dakar2026
This is #UgandaRugbyโs first appearance in Olympic rugby. The boys will compete in Pool B against ๐ฆ๐ท, ๐ซ๐ท & ๐ฏ๐ต at Complexe Iba Mar Diop from 1โ3 Nov. The challenge is steep, but the squad arrives with fresh confidence after claiming back to back gold in the U18 boysโ category at the Safari 7s in Nairobi.
Head coach Peter Ochol will lead a compact group that includes Victor Ampiire, Bonamy Asiimwe Bwambale, Trey Rugamba Gateja, Jeremiah Iragaba, Sanyu Katushabe, Moses Kibeti, Deogracious Muliira, Almadi Otema, James Tyron Ssebuufu, Shafik Okole and Abdulrahman Ongima.

๐บ๐ฌ๐ฆ๐ช #UgandaRugbyโs SVNS 3 hosting hopes dashed as Dubai takes the 2026/27 event
WR & HSBC SVNS have confirmed that HSBC SVNS 3 will be staged in Dubai (27โ28 November). This ends any realistic chance Uganda had of hosting the third-tier global event this cycle.
For ๐บ๐ฌ, the focus now shifts fully back to qualification. The menโs side missed out after the final loss to ๐ฟ๐ผ. The Lady Cranes still have their Africa Womenโs 7s (SVNS 3 qualifier) coming up in ๐ฐ๐ช Nairobi (7โ8 November).
๐บ๐ฌ๐ #UgandaRugby has won the hosting rights for a World Rugby HSBC SVNS Division III circuit leg in January ๐คฉ๐ฅณ
According to the State Minister for Sports, Hon. Peter Ogwang, Uganda will host 24 countries at the global circuit
๐ But first: Uganda will host the SVNS 3 Africa Qualifiers on 26โ27 Sept 2026
The road to January starts on 7 weeks
He literally said heโd wear the Springboks jersey because he couldnโt find his Sables one.
Some Zimbabweans want his head on a plate. ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฆ The rivalry is REAL.
Meanwhile, in #UgandaRugby, we had a head coach wear a Springboks jersey while on national duty, and life went on normally. ๐
๐ฒ๐ฆ The Moroccan Royal Rugby Federation held its 2025โ2026 Ordinary General Assembly
All items on the General Assembly's agenda were approved unanimously - Such as new programmes, funding commitments & competition reforms.
Like elsewhere in rugby, the biggest challenge affecting clubs was identified as financial, second to that was the level of coordination among rugby stakeholders.
๐ฒ๐ฆ The Royal Moroccan Rugby Federation (FRMR) announces its upcoming Ordinary General Assembly scheduled for Sunday, 25 Oct 2026
The meeting is intended to review the federationโs activities during the 2025โ2026 sporting season, assess its achievements and challenges, and discuss the future development of Moroccan rugby.
The federationโs last AGM was on 1 November 2025.
Congratulations on the win ๐ค

๐ณ๐ฆ Namibia domestic rugby is about to have a lot DC statements in the coming weeks.. ๐
This was after the semifinal between Kudus RFC and the Barbarians. Heads got got
๐ณ๐ฆ Interesting scenes at the #Ongos7s
#UgandaRugby fans will understand when we say KUDU RFC almost did a 'Walukuba' in this match
The ref missed to call a forward pass by the ๐ฟ๐ฆ Witz Barbarians and KUDU players walked off the pitch for a bit
...but they later returned to play and eventually won the game 17-15.
This was a semifinal, KUDUs eventually won the final too and were crowned champions

Zimbabwean Miss Universe, Roseanna Hall was at the NSS for the Zimbabwe vs Namibia match

The Sables controlled large periods, scored freely in the first half.
Namibia will be frustrated. They were second-best for long stretches but produced a strong response after the break.
The Sables head into their November Nations Cup campaign (Samoa, Uruguay, Chile) with a valuable scalp and growing belief.
We have never forgiven RA for taking our own African tournament, the #RAC2022, to be hosted in France ๐คฆโโ๏ธ

๐บ๐ฌ This was a much-needed visit by KOBs.
With Kyadondo Rugby Academy strengthening ties with NGO through friendlies & Heathens actively signing chap chap MoUs with institutions, it was important for KOBs to reconnect with their long-time partner school.
Good to see the Blue Army showing up at Namilyango.
Yesterday, #KCBKOBs visited Namilyango College for a rugby clinic, strengthening our longstanding partnership with the school.
Through interactive talks, students sharpened their rugby abilities and gained valuable lessons beyond the game.

Love to say this was the biggest rugby crowd in Africa after ๐ฟ๐ฆ & ๐ฒ๐ฌ

๐ณ๐ฆ home Test crowds are usually 2kโ3k at Hage Geingob Rugby Stadium

๐ โMilkingโ in Rugby
Yesterday, during the Leinster vs Munster URC derby, there was this incident in the late first-half
Munster No. 8 Gavin Coombes alleged he had been grabbed in the groin area (milked)
Referee & TMO reviewed it live but found no clear evidence and played on - the matter was left for the citing commissioner.
We wait, Leinster hooker Rรณnan Kelleher might get in trouble for this.
