Interesting article here on growing a sporting competition, attracting investors and supporting the development of participating clubs - makes you realise how much @FA have failed futsal with their @FA_NFS experiment. They have the cash to promote and invest but neither the interest nor desire to do so. @UEFAFutsal @Futsal_Focus @Sport_England @TeleFootball

Meet Parastoo Ahmadi, the Iranian singer just sentenced to 74 lashes for not wearing a hijab in a music video. And I have yet to see a single Western popstar, actor, or woke social justice warrior speechifying about her.
Almost like standing up for truly oppressed people isn’t actually the point.

WAS THIS A POLITICAL REMAND?
The reported reason was that the judge considered there was a real possibility of an immediate custodial sentence if Thomas were convicted. That fact alone isn’t a reason to remand as other possibilities like a tag, curfew, reporting to a police station could have been implemented.
More evidence that people are losing faith in two-tier justice. From my experience as a former police sergeant and magistrate, this case AGAIN raises serious questions about the evidence, proportionality and consistency.
Daniel Thomas has been remanded in custody after being charged over the alleged slashing of a migrant boat. He has pleaded not guilty. Following the CPS announcement that Thomas had been charged, Reform UK’s deputy leader
Richard Tice defended Thomas, claiming that he was doing the job the police and border force should be doing.
But basic questions need clear answers,
Did the alleged incident take place in UK territorial waters?
Who owns the vessel, and was it being used lawfully?
What evidence supports the charge?
How much did the boat cost, and who will bear the cost of any damage or replacement?
Why was Thomas charged with endangering life?
These are not minor details. They go directly to the seriousness of the alleged offence, the public interest and whether remand was proportionate.
The justice system must apply the same standards to everyone. Allegations should be tested in court, evidence should be disclosed, and punishment should not be used to make a political example.
Justice must be blind, not political.
