Working on strike zone recognition with 2028 @AppStateSB commit @Evamartinez2028! Love the new ABS system feature from @HitTraxOfficial! With the possibility of ABS being implemented in softball in the future, this is a great way to train catchers to recognize what a true strike zone looks like! A good example of why this is important: Eva is much better at receiving pitches at the bottom of the zone compared to the top. However, she still needs to learn to recognize strikes at the top of the zone because some of those pitches might look like balls based on how she receives them. But if she knows the pitch was in the strike zone, she can tap, challenge the call, and win it! This is why strike zone recognition is becoming such an important part of our catching training!

This is why our catchers train with @HitTraxOfficial’s new strike zone system, similar to ABS, so they can start learning what a true strike zone looks like! 🙌🏼

College softball is moving closer to an automated ball, strike system.🤖🥎 The Sun Belt is the first to opt into an NCAA experimental rule that puts Trackman in every Sun Belt stadium and on all coaches tablets for conference games in 2027. Velocity, spin, movement, and batted-ball data show up in real time. Balls and strikes can be read after games and will be used for umpire evaluations.📝

New hittrax update is 🔥 ABS zone for each hitter based on height. Auto video of every swing - take - and batted ball. Swing decisions - pitch recognition - and learning from your takes and misses just got a lot better.

Had my catching lesson with @BackstopAcademy and got to try out the new @HitTraxOfficial catching module. It helped break down my throw downs and showed me how much my transition affects my pop time. Can't wait to go back!

.@KonnorGriffin22 practiced hitting line drives at PNC on the HitTrax so much that his family called jokingly called deep left-center "Konnor's Corner" ⬇️ Of course his first hit went right to it. Years of manifestation paying off!🔮

Konnor Griffin's dad said Konnor hits at PNC Park on HitTrax when he works out in the offseason, and his first career hit went somewhere familiar. "We've jokingly called that 'Konnor's Corner' for about a year now hitting on the HitTrax."
