HMP Send: a very good, well-led, rehabilitation-focused prison
Read the inspection report: hmiprisons.justiceinspectora…
And the press notice: hmiprisons.justiceinspectora…
See the healthy prison scores:
ALT A bar graph illustrating the healthy prison test scores at HMP Send when it was inspected in 2021 and 2025. The ratings for safety and respect remained good, while the rating for purposeful activity improved from not sufficiently good to reasonably good and the rating for preparation for release improved from reasonably good to good.

Fantastic to welcome @CherieBlairKC to @HmpSend last week.
We discussed how we work with the prison to support mothers to stay in touch with their children. Maintaining family contact helps to keep women in prison safe and significantly reduces the likelihood they’ll reoffend.

Brilliant photos of a fantastic visit from @KensingtonRoyal at @HmpSend. Thank you @design102studio!
At the beginning of the year we were lucky enough to photograph HRH The Duchess of Cambridge when she visited HMP Send. She was there to discuss the @ForwardTrust substance misuse programme, which empowers women to break the cycle of addiction and crime

Absolutely love this feedback 💜
We know that people need to see their loved ones face to face, but sometimes that just isn’t as straightforward as it should be.
We want to help fill in the gap just a little 💜 #purplevisits #feedback #review #familyties #bridgethegap

This piece was entered into the #KoestlerAwards by an entrant @HmpSend as part of a @cityandguilds hairdressing qualification!
The artist included some moving words explaining the style choices in relation to her own life's struggles - a "beauty and the beast kinda situation" 💛
