ALT Regarding AI Usage We’d like to be transparent about our use of generative AI in Demonologist. Generative AI was only used to create some in-game pictures, posters, paintings, achievement icons, and Steam store capsule artwork. No AI is used for any other purpose in the game. Everything else is made by humans. We’ve also updated our Steam AI disclosure accordingly. Clock Wizard Games ❤️

ALT Demonologist was recently found out to be using generative AI and only now that they were called out have they posted something on their steam about it. I put in many hours of this game, streamed it AND of course, spent money on it. To say I am angry is an understatement. I am requesting a refund for Demonologist and this is what I have written: "This game did NOT disclose it's generative AI usage when they released it which is AGAINST your TOS and rules. If it had been disclosed I would NOT have bought it. This is disingenuous and I am incredibly angry. While I know this is past the refund criteria, I believe that not disclosing genAI usage should be grounds for a refund seen as it is tricking people into trusting them and spending their money and it is against your policy, which so far I have not seen any punishment for developers that do this from you." Maybe if enough people do this it might make Steam do something, I dunno. We can only hope.
