At Monday night's school board meeting, a motion was made by a trustee to launch an investigation after the board considered item 9.C. Any of the other six board members could have provided a second to the motion. It did not happen. I have been asked why I chose not to second the motion.   Let me be clear. I find the behavior alleged by the student regarding his interaction with Mr. Lowe inappropriate and unbecoming of a board member.   An investigation requires hiring an investigator at taxpayer expense.  If the result of an investigation found the allegations to be true, the board would have no further recourse but to choose whether to censure Mr. Lowe. He would still have a place on the dais. He could still propose agenda items. He would still be a voting member of the board. He would still be a trustee.  An investigation of these allegations would have no lasting effect.   It is my belief that if the Frisco ISD community finds Mr. Lowe's alleged (and witnessed) behavior to date as unacceptable, recourse will only be found at the ballot box. Voters can choose not to support other candidates who would further his agenda. Voters can choose not to support those he endorses. Voters could choose not to re-elect him in 2025.   At this point, I believe it is the voting public's turn to speak and demonstrate what values and agenda they would like their board of trustees to carry forward. In the meantime, I believe the majority of my colleagues and I will continue to do what we have always strived for -- the support of staff, stakeholders, and ALL students.
