ALT On Sunday, November 16, at 14:53 UTC (9:53 AM ET / 6:53 PM AZT local time), ISS crew member Mike Fincke, using the callsign KE5AIT, will conduct a direct amateur radio contact with the SPACE Academy of Azercosmos in Baku, Azerbaijan, via the station’s callsign OR4ISS. The ground station will operate under the callsign 4K4AZE and can be heard on 145.800 MHz FM. During the event, the ISS cross-band voice repeater will be offline, and SSTV transmissions will be paused. (NASA image: Mike Fincke, pre-flight before the 2025 Crew-11 launch.)

ALT The image shows a HamTV unit, part of the amateur television system on the ISS, with a schedule for installation on Tue, 29-July, from 07:55 to 09:55 UTC (3:55 to 5:55 AM ET). A successful install should have the unit active and transmitting a carrier. Reception reports are requested via social media. HamTV uses MPEG-2 video with DVB-S protocol, transmitting on 2395 MHz (2.395 GHz), primarily for educational contacts. More info is available on the BATC wiki, ARISS discussion, Discord, and live feed when available. (2014 NASA photo of the HamTV unit in the ISS Columbus module.)
