π On Friday evening we were tasked to a report of a fire on Irelandβs Eye off the coast of Howth.
β
On investigation, we determined the fire was an illusion created by the bright working lights of a ship at sea.
π Yesterday, we were paged to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin to create a secure helicopter landing zone.
π Irish Coast Guard Rescue Helicopter 118 was enroute with an inter-hospital patient transfer from Sligo to Beaumont.
ππ In late December, we were tasked to Assist NEOC with HLS (Helicopter Landing Site) Preparation at Beaumont Hospital.
π β°οΈ Recently, we were tasked to the report of a car over a cliff in North Dublin.
π Thankfully, the driver was uninjured and was cared for by @DubFireBrigade while we secured the vehicle from travelling over a further steep drop. β at Fingal, Ireland
π π Overnight, alongside @gardainfo we located and rescued an unresponsive person from mud flats in North Dublin.
π₯ The person was far out in deep mud, and after assessment was carried to shore by a stretcher team to a @DubFireBrigade ambulance. (Stock photo)
Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a peaceful New Year! This year our weβve been busy, responding to 106 incidents, and offering emergency assistance to those in need. We've worked hand-in-hand with our colleagues from the National Ambulance Service, Dublin Fire Brigade, 1/3
ππΆπΌDuring the week, we had a report of a person attempting to cross tidal estuary on foot.
β
We transported them back to safety. β at Limerick, Ireland
π During Storm Fergus, we were tasked to a trawler in Howth Harbour with a crewman who had sustained injuries in strong gusts.
π We transported the injured person to our Coast Guard station and provided care until arrival of @AmbulanceNAS
π π€ Earlier today, we were tasked to a report of a small vessel in Broadmeadows Estuary with suspected engine difficulties
π¨π The vessel was blown ashore by wind and those onboard got to safety just as Rescue Helicopter 116 arrived on-scene. β at Fingal, Ireland
π Ireland has almost 1,000 unpaid Coast Guard on-call 24/7 for search & rescue taskings.
πOn #InternationalVolunteersDay we want to thank our Howth volunteers who give so much of their time to protect our community from the loss of life on the cliffs, coasts, and at sea.
