Every construction site must follow these five steps:
• Put up tall boundary screens
• Spray water regularly to settle dust
• Cover all stored sand and soil

Gurugram has successfully upgraded its air from breathable to chewable. GRAP-1 is now active. Since holding our breath until spring is not a viable strategy, we must follow these five steps:
➡️Maintain a valid PUC certificate for all vehicles.
➡️Use public transit or carpool rather than driving alone.
➡️Stop burning waste and dry leaves in open areas.
➡️Cover construction materials and sprinkle water to suppress dust.
➡️Avoid firecrackers during celebrations.
Let us act responsibly before severe restrictions force us indoors.

गुरुग्राम में हरियाणा राज्य प्रदूषण नियंत्रण बोर्ड (एचएसपीसीबी) द्वारा आज गुरुग्राम में आरडब्ल्यूए प्रतिनिधियों और फैसिलिटी मैनेजरों के साथ जागरूकता एवं अनुपालन बैठक आयोजित की गई।
बैठक में सीएक्यूएम के निर्देश संख्या 76, ग्रैप के प्रावधानों और एसटीपी संचालन मानकों की जानकारी दी गई।
✅ डीजी सेट का निर्धारित मानकों के अनुसार संचालन सुनिश्चित करें।
✅ धूल नियंत्रण, खुले में कचरा जलाने पर रोक और निर्माण कचरे का उचित प्रबंधन करें।
✅ एसटीपी को 24 घंटे संचालित रखें और बिना उपचारित सीवेज नालों में न छोड़ें।
✅ उपचारित पानी का उपयोग बागवानी एवं फ्लशिंग जैसे कार्यों में करें।
🌱 प्रदूषण नियंत्रण के नियमों का पालन करें, स्वच्छ एवं स्वस्थ गुरुग्राम के निर्माण में योगदान दें।

🌿 गुरुग्राम में वायु प्रदूषण की रोकथाम के लिए सभी विभाग प्रभावी कदम उठाएं।
डीसी श्री उत्तम सिंह ने आज लघु सचिवालय में संबंधित अधिकारियों के साथ समीक्षा बैठक कर सीएक्यूएम के दिशा-निर्देशों और ग्रैप (GRAP) के तहत की जा रही तैयारियों की समीक्षा की।
उन्होंने निर्माण स्थलों पर धूल नियंत्रण, सड़कों की नियमित सफाई, पानी के छिड़काव, कचरे के उचित निस्तारण और खुले में कचरा एवं बायोमास जलाने पर रोक लगाने के निर्देश दिए हैं। बंधवाड़ी लैंडफिल साइट पर आग की घटनाओं की रोकथाम के लिए भी आवश्यक व्यवस्थाएं सुनिश्चित करने को कहा है।
सभी विभाग ग्रैप के विभिन्न चरणों के अनुरूप अपनी तैयारियां पूरी रखें, निगरानी टीमों को सक्रिय करें और नियमों का उल्लंघन करने वालों के खिलाफ नियमानुसार कार्रवाई सुनिश्चित करें।
🌱 प्रदूषण नियंत्रण जिला प्रशासन की प्राथमिकता है। स्वच्छ एवं स्वस्थ वातावरण के लिए सभी विभाग आपसी समन्वय से कार्य करें और नागरिक भी प्रदूषण रोकने में अपना सहयोग दें।

Deputy Commissioner Shri Uttam Singh Reviews Pollution Control Measures in Gurugram
Deputy Commissioner Shri Uttam Singh chaired a review meeting at the Mini Secretariat to assess pollution control measures and preparedness under the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) guidelines and the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP).
✔️ Regular monitoring of dust control measures at construction sites and installation of anti-smog guns as per prescribed norms.
✔️ Mechanical road sweeping, water sprinkling, pothole repairs, and identification of dust-prone areas.
✔️ Proper collection, segregation, transportation, and disposal of solid waste and construction and demolition waste.
✔️ Strengthened monitoring and safety measures at landfill sites, including the Bandhwari landfill.
✔️ Strict action against open burning of waste and biomass, illegal dumping, and violations of pollution control norms.
✔️ Enforcement of regulations regarding industrial waste and illegal storage and sale of firecrackers.
✔️ Active monitoring teams, time-bound resolution of pollution-related complaints, and public awareness initiatives.
The Deputy Commissioner directed all departments to remain prepared for every stage of GRAP, ensure timely implementation of pollution control measures, and submit action-taken reports within the prescribed timeline.

Your daily cup of coffee is becoming more expensive, and the main reason is rising heat.
A recent study shows that major coffee-growing regions faced nearly two extra months of damaging heat (above 30°C) every year between 2021 and 2025 due to carbon pollution. Coffee plants are delicate. When temperatures rise beyond this limit, plants drop their flowers, beans fail to mature properly, and overall harvests decline. This hurts small farmers who depend on this single crop and pushes prices up for everyday consumers.
However, we can still reverse this trend if we take collective climate action right now:
• Adopt clean and renewable energy to cut down daily emissions.
• Support shade-grown coffee, where farmers plant native forest trees over crops to create a cooler microclimate.
• Conserve water and stop deforestation to help soils retain moisture during dry spells.
Climate change is directly touching our everyday lives, but thoughtful choices can turn things around. When we act to protect the environment, we protect our farmers, our food supply, and our morning coffee.

Our city's solid waste can cook our food. 🌱
Every day, our cities collect tonnes of waste. Most of it goes to landfills, where it rots, smells, and pollutes our air and water.
Urban local bodies, there's a better way. TERI's TEAM method turns the organic part of this waste into clean biogas.
Here's how it works:
Segregated organic waste is chopped and soaked in water for six days.
The liquid that forms goes into a second tank for 16 hours.
Microbes there remove about 90% of the pollution load and make biogas.
That biogas is 70 to 75% methane, a strong fuel for cooking and heating.
The solids left behind are sun-dried and used as manure.
TERI's plant in Gurgaon has run on this method since 2000. So it's proven, not a pilot.
Less waste in landfills. Cleaner air. Local fuel and fertiliser. That's a circular economy working at city scale.
Let's start with segregation at source and make our waste work for us. ♻️
