There is NO tanking problem.
@DrewHill_DM @ChrisHerrington Why are individual player prop gambling shaving scandals (Rozier, Porter) a massive issue, but teams clearly throwing games is not? We call it tanking, but how is this not a gambling scandal?
BTW, I think both are a crisis in need of fixing because fulfilling the inherent sports-fan contract of competitive behavior to me is imperative. If regular season games can be treated like exhibition games, then the whole enterprise is suspect.
Trying to lose is NOT OK!! It’s not OK when your team does it, and it’s not OK when my team does it. Sports are meant to be competitive. And competitive means you try to win.
NBA games right now have no integrity. It not only means the draft order is worthless, but it means the end of season records for every team is a waste of time. The Orlando Magic got a win today they didn’t deserve, and that skews everything. This is not OK.
Why in the world would I watch any NBA game right now that features a team that wants to lose? A total waste of time. Holding players out down the stretch, fake injuries, a total joke.
Fix it, @NBA . Your product is broken, and you’re destroying what could be a great game.
