On the tenth Anniversary of the launch meeting, we celebrate the first decade of the #HumanCellAtlas and what’s to come, with reflections from HCA Co-Founders Sarah Teichmann and Aviv Regev, and new Co-Chairs Muzlifah Haniffa and Alexandra-Chloé Villani. buff.ly/LMdeK3J
The HCA’s communities, organized into Biological Networks and Regional Networks, guided by Working Groups, are assembling the #HumanCellAtlas.
The first draft #HumanCellAtlas of healthy tissues is now within sight, with publication planned in 2027. Meanwhile, ambitious plans for the next phase - HCA 2.0 - are already underway. This will map billions of cells, in 2D and 3D and include disease.
Fabulous to see this editorial from @NatureBiotech, highlighting HCA achievements and technologies over the past 10 years, and the ambitious plans for the future. Watch this space!
