We want to see more women and young people take part in politics, engage in democratic processes, and put themselves forward for elective positions. That is why, supported by the EU under their WYDE-PoliticalParties, we have invested in their training and civic education across 27 counties. But the real question is whether these efforts are translating into more women and young people stepping forward to lead and seek elected office. Through the Equality and Inclusion Workshop, we are bringing together local leaders to reflect on the progress made, share experiences, and identify what more needs to be done to make this a reality. Women and young people should not just have a voice in politics. They should also have a fair chance at leadership.
