Many future postings will include a short description of scores and notable events during the respective match, thanks to Johnny Meynell (@Shayman66), who has allowed me to use notes in his book "From Ball To Lillis", which covered 1968/69 to 1998/99.
For no apparent reason I've had this classic bouncing around my head all morning, which is a good thing. One of the best songs of the decade. youtube.com/watch?v=d7fA_OxO…

What a pleasure to speak to former Town striker Bobby Davison about his magical time at The Shay. Special interview with him will be on the Courier website in the near future.

Brian Kilcline @CoventryCityFC
Kilcline moved from Notts County to Coventry City in June 1984. Over a seven-year span, he became a pillar of the team's defense, establishing a reputation as a "blood and guts" leader. He made 173 league appearances and scored 28 goals for the Sky Blues

The 2:1 Boxing Day win vs Huddersfield shortly before the cup tie vs Man City, after beating Walsall in he 2nd Round on Xmas Eve. About as good as it's ever got in my time supporting Town. @AndyStafford011
RIP. If I remember correctly, Peter was good mates with Kevin Keegan during his spell there.
Ruhe in Frieden, Peter. 🕊️️
