Last night an AI agent performed brain surgery on a mouse.
We gave it 19 gene therapy vectors in a spreadsheet, a mouse model of epilepsy, access to a motorize surgery rig with cameras and one goal: reduce seizures.
It picked the drug. It picked the brain region. It derived the coordinates from three papers. Then it drove the stereotaxic arms into the brain and injected 250 nanolitres while watching the entry site through the rig camera for bleeding.
A licensed vet gated every irreversible step and held a physical kill switch to stop the AI agent.
Thread on what it decided, what it saw, and the moment it refused to let me override it.
[Writing this on the spot out of excitement, but I've been 18hrs in front of my laptop coding and coordinating this, so keeping it brief and descriptive, more cohesive thoughts on this soon...]

Our robots built this in the city of Almere: curved walls, different types of bricks and bonds, indented text.
Real world deployment, insane complexity, 100% of every brick done by our robots, with another 15 houses to come in the coming weeks.

Indeed job postings:
1/ Software development postings are rocketing upward: Y/Y growth of almost 25%. At that pace we're about a year away from pre-COVID levels (we're recovering from a deep depression in this category).
I’ve left Anthropic after more than a year of working on Claude Code and seeing it scale larger than I ever imagined.
I have really loved working at Ant and believe deeply in the mission, and most of all, the idea of a race to the top.
The idea that if we work hard and responsibly, we can raise the bar and inspire others to great outcomes. And if we all push each other to be better, things can be radically good. I will carry the spirit of this with me forever.
My colleagues at Anthropic are the most talented, thoughtful, competent, and earnest people I have ever met. I am glad they are at the wheel and trust them deeply.
To the community on X, thank you for everything. You’ve made this the most fun (and sometimes stressful) job I’ve ever had.
For me, it is time for a bit of a break before diving into something new.
If you want more excellent Claude Code content, you should follow @addyosmani , @lydiahallie, @_catwu, @ClaudeDevs and of course @bcherny who started it all.

As CEO of Product Hunt, I see hundreds of launches a week. One trait separates winners from losers.
Every few months, new models come out. Some products become better, effortlessly. Some don't improve, or become irrelevant.
This property needs a name. I'm calling it Buoyancy.
Buoyant startups rise with model improvements the way a boat rises with the tide.
Anti-buoyant startups come in two flavors: over-scaffolded (which hinders the new, smarter models) and too thin - which makes them redundant when models improve.
To be buoyant, you need a "hull" - usually proprietary data, a vertical-specific harness, network effects, or distribution advantage. This hull keeps you buoyant as models improve.
Hulls are the new moats.
My number one advice to startups in 2026: Be buoyant. Find your hull.

UPDATE: I can confirm that the Ledger supply chain is compromised in Europe as well. @Ledger should initiate an immediate product recall to protect users.
I just purchased a second device from a different Mediamarkt location today, recorded the unboxing process, and discovered spyware once again (video linked in the second tweet).
The device was compromised in the exact same manner, featuring identical modifications (such as additional cables and an LTE module). This indicates its a widespread issue rather than an isolated incident, potentially affecting Ledger inventory across MediaMarkt and Saturn stores throughout Europe (comprising over 1,000 stores across 11 countries).
My initial hypothesis was that these devices were returns that looked unopened to the employees and were just sold again as new however, a MediaMarkt employee confirmed that the device I purchased was not a return, and that returned Ledgers are sent directly back to the manufacturer rather than resold.
Store records show the inventory originated from Aqipa GmbH. While Ledger's CTO was unsure if Aqipa serves as the direct distributor between Ledger and MediaMarkt, it appears to be the case. Given that Aqipa distributes across Europe, any physical retail store receiving stock through them may be at risk.
I sent the first ledger to mark and the second one is going to ledger now, so that they can analyse it.
If you purchased a ledger from anyone other than the official ledger store, make sure to check your device!!

72% of the intelligence with 3.8% of the GPUs.
Just to show how talented @MistralAI team is: this shows the "intelligence per GPU" ratio.
- Mistral 4: 3,800 Grace Blackwell (published) 🇫🇷
- GPT-6 Astra: 100,000+ Grace Blackwell (published)
- Grok 4.7: ~200,000 GPUs (estimate)
- Claude Opus 5.5: ~500,000 Trainium2 (estimate)

CONTROL Resonant has become Remedy’s biggest Steam launch ever, peaking at over 40,000 concurrent players.
The original Control peaked only at around 9,100.
Resonant also hit #1 on Steam’s bestseller chart and has around 89% positive reviews.
Even some piracy communities are telling people to buy the game if they can afford it to support Remedy.

We’re sending TPUs to space (yes, really).
After years of research, we’re launching a satellite to evaluate if and how Google Tensor Processing Units (TPUs) hold up in orbit.
The test mission, as part of our latest moonshot — Project Suncatcher — is designed to gather data exploring how we can one day host machine learning infrastructure in space.

ALT White text on a black background with photos of a TPU and a rocket orbiting Earth. The text reads: “Meet Project Suncatcher, our moonshot to test whether we can host AI infrastructure in space.”

ALT An image showing circuit boards, overlaid with text that reads: “We partnered with Planet to send a prototype satellite carrying four TPUs into orbit. We’ll be looking to see how well the TPUs withstand the harsh conditions of space to assess whether we can eventually host machine learning in orbit.”
