From 11 January in England, people who a receive a positive lateral flow device test result for Covid - but do not have symptoms - will be required to self-isolate immediately and won’t be required to take a PCR test. – at South West, England

From Tuesday 11 January in England, people who receive a positive lateral flow test for COVID-19 won’t be required to take a confirmatory PCR test. They should continue to self-isolate.

From today you no longer need to seek a confirmatory PCR test if you have tested positive on lateral flow. Which makes it more important than ever that you report positive LFD results please. If you develop Covid symptoms you should still book a PCR test.

From 11 January in England, if you get a positive lateral flow test result:
❌ you will no longer need to take a follow-up PCR test
✅ you should still self-isolate immediately
This is a temporary measure while #COVID19 cases remain high.
