Growing up in the United States, NYSE was synonymous with the story of American capitalism. I vividly remember learning about the Buttonwood agreement in 9th grade history class. 24 stockbrokers met under a tree on Wall Street and formed the beginning of what would become the world's financial center. From pits to computers to now onchain markets, America has always led the way in innovating markets to improve price discovery and capital formation. Today the next chapter begins with ICE, trade[XYZ], and Hyperliquid.
ICE started as an electricity-trading platform in 2000, growing to acquire NYSE itself in only 13 years. It is a key infrastructure provider of America’s energy, bond, and mortgage markets. ICE is a rare story of exponential growth of a financial giant over decades, continually embracing innovation and technology.
trade[XYZ] was the first HIP-3 deployer and responsible for spearheading the flourishing global RWA perpetual market today. Only a year ago, trade[XYZ] launched its first RWA perpetual markets. They took a bet on HIP-3, which had just launched after months of tireless development. Having followed their journey from day 1, I cannot overstate how much Shoku and the team have poured into growing these markets to a genuine source of price discovery for the most important assets in the world.
Over the past three years, Hyperliquid has pioneered onchain infrastructure to house all of finance. Hyperliquid is nothing without its world-class builders. I am honored that trade[XYZ] and ICE have chosen to build on Hyperliquid to bring perpetual contracts to America.
When I first spoke to Jeff Sprecher around a year ago, he asked what success looks like to me. I thought for some time and joked that it would be seeing ICE building on Hyperliquid's technology. I could never have predicted the progress that we've made as a community in a single year to make this come true. Excited to see what we can build together next.
Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) and trade[XYZ] have announced their plan to use Hyperliquid as the infrastructure layer to deploy perpetual futures markets for US traders across crypto, equities, commodities, foreign exchange, and other real-world assets, subject to regulatory approvals. ICE operates NYSE and some of the largest exchanges and clearing houses globally.
In this structure:
+ Hyperliquid serves as the underlying technology infrastructure via HIP-3*
+ trade[XYZ] designs and implements the markets
+ ICE operates the regulated market and clearing structure
Existing trade[XYZ] HIP-3 markets will remain unchanged.
Hyperliquid is a neutral infrastructure layer with the goal of supporting large parts of the financial system. As with HIP-3, HIP-3* deployers are independent operators who use Hyperliquid as the onchain infrastructure layer for their own markets, while retaining control and responsibility over their deployment.

Of the 3.75M HYPE sold OTC last month, 3.125M HYPE was staked on one wallet with the Hyperliquid Strategies x Unit validator. The remaining 625K HYPE was sent to another wallet on HyperEVM, where it stayed inactive for almost three weeks before sending 1 HYPE to a new wallet yesterday.

That new wallet was funded the same day, through a few hops, by a wallet with multiple links to wallets used by TradeXYZ to buy tickers on Hyperliquid.
The 625K HYPE has now been transferred to the new wallet, moved from HyperEVM to Hypercore.

Not 100% sure what this means or why the HYPE was split, but my main theory is that ICE was indeed the buyer of the 3.75M HYPE, which remains unconfirmed, and that the 625K HYPE may have been transferred to TradeXYZ as part of ICE’s investment. The onchain link strongly suggests that the 625K HYPE belongs to TradeXYZ.

In just over a year, our markets on Hyperliquid have surpassed $650 billion in volume. They provide continuous price discovery for stocks, indices, and commodities, and have become trusted reference points for retail and institutions alike when traditional markets are closed. Much of the world trades them. Until now, Americans could only watch.

HypeNative is bringing a new experience to Hyperliquid NFTs with HyperGlyphs Orchestra.
Combine up to 8 HyperGlyphs, each with its own on-chain melody, to create a unique musical composition.
Users can customise instruments, drum styles, tempo, swing, and chord progressions to build their own sound.
It's an interesting example of how NFTs can become interactive rather than just collectibles. I like seeing developers experiment with new ways to use on-chain assets.

Hyperliquid Strategies ($PURR) has increased its share buyback authorization from $30M to $100M.
The Nasdaq-listed company still has approximately $72M available for repurchases, with the program extended until October 31, 2027.
With around 38.8M $HYPE in its treasury and its shares trading at a discount to its underlying assets, this is an interesting move.
This is a $PURR share buyback, not a direct $HYPE token buyback. Still, it shows how the company is approaching long-term value creation.

Hyperliquid once had a $1 billion valuation on the table. The story behind walking away from it involves someone you rarely hear about.
Everyone talks about Jeff Yan.
But there’s another name in Hyperliquid’s founding story worth knowing: iliensinc. @iliensinc
A Harvard classmate of Jeff’s, she went from working in venture capital across Asia to helping him turn a one-man crypto trading operation into a real business.
When Hyperliquid launched, she was there in the trenches. She handled exchange relationships, helped build the team, and later became a familiar presence in Discord, announcing weekly points allocations as the community tried to figure out how the system rewarded users.
The $1 billion valuation offer in January 2024.
She spent two weeks helping Jeff understand the deal. He ultimately walked away.
Hyperliquid would remain self-funded, without outside investors dictating its direction.
It’s easy to focus on Jeff’s vision and the product that followed.
But behind that story was someone helping build the team, navigate the business, and make the difficult decisions that kept the vision moving.
Hyperliquid’s story has more than one name behind it.
Most people just know one.
