Last week, the #ReMIND study team at @KhrcGhana completed a four-day refresher training (July 8–11, 2025) to sharpen their skills in brain imaging using the @Hyperfine low-field MRI system. The training focused on neuroimaging data acquisition, processing, and updated quality control procedures.
The training was facilitated by experts from the University of Cape Town, Jessica Ringshaw (Senior Training Lead), Simone Williams (Data Manager), and Petter Clemensson (UNITY Biomedical Engineer) and included hands-on sessions to ensure high standards in data quality and ethical practices.
ReMIND is part of the global UNITY Network, which studies early childhood brain development using portable MRI scanners in 17 sites across 12 low- and middle-income countries. It investigates how maternal anaemia impacts infant brain development during the first year of life. The ReMIND study is funded by @gatesfoundation.
This training helps the team at KHRC stay updated and continue producing reliable and accurate data for the study.

Umm..@DoorDash for MRI?? We are currently trialing in-room MRI for our stroke patients to reduce risks in transport and improve patients experience.
It allows all drips, infusions and room equipment to remain in place as well as the patient’s family may remain near to them during the scan.
The machine can complete adc, dwi, t2, and t2 in approx 15 minutes. As well as other sequences based on the patients needs.
Currently we are comparing imagine quality to see if this could be a longer term solution to improve their experience. Which of course is my favorite thing.
