I am trying to wrap my (autistic?) brain around what autism is and what we all have in common.

My daughter asked if I could arrange for her to see a councillor who doesn’t know she is #Autistic because “otherwise they just blame everything on me being Autistic”
That says everything we need to know about so called Mental Health Care for #ActuallyAutistic people in the UK
I am starting to think I am not actually autistic, so I guess I should not use the hashtag. My therapist who is an expert say I have some traits, probably, and many people do, but he does not even think it is necessary to get a proper assessment. I am fine with that.
I don't think there is anything wrong with being autistic, although it has a stigma. I just don't think it quite fits me. And in my family there are traits of narcissism, OCPD, depression and anxiety, as well as some autistic traits. We need to accept that.

Last week, we learned that the President of the United States engaged in fraud to avoid millions of dollars in taxes on his family fortune, yet hardly anyone is talking about it. When a democratic society becomes this inured to corruption, democracy itself is it risk.

This is misattributed to me. I didn't write it. It's obviously funny on first glance, but not really smart about depression, imo.

#AskingAutistics I'm in dx process, no idea until now, in my 40s. Wondering if every autistic person experiences being autistic as disabling/a disability? Or alternatively as not disabling, just different? Thank you for any thoughts on this! #ActuallyAutistic
I have a PhD in Linguistics but I got a job interview for a position as a financial analyst. Love it! I am good at detecting patterns!

Okay, but if promtion to full is just a paperwork burden that leads to committee work, why are male scholars so eager to go up for full, to go up EARLY for full, to gain the rank? This is a bullshit reason. chronicle.com/article/For-So…

On the most general level of the "why not go up for Full Professor" consider: how many women thinks it's a bother and also unnecessary, and how many men are eager to get their promotion as fast as possible. Ask yourself how this disparity in thinking came to by, and why.

Brett Kavanaugh has been confirmed to the Supreme Court. In less than 2 years—America’s gone from being a leader on social justice, women’s rights and LGBTQ equality to being a fascist nation who abuses children and threatens the rights of people of color, women and LGBTQ people.
#askingautistics Can anyone explain to me exactly how autistic brains are different from others? And can you be "a little autistic"?!?
