It’s been fun, but I’m off now. There’s too much of my history here - this was my first teacher account - so I’m not deleting my profile. At least not yet. But no more scrolling to pass the time. Headed to bluer skies than these - maybe I’ll see you there.

Thinking about the new school year led me to this piece for @edutopia
Let’s talk about bad advice. What else have you heard over the years? This only scratches the surface I think!

Maybe the best gift we can give our kids this year is a time limit for their phones/devices and more quality time together as families.

To parents of ambitious students: Don't waste your money with essay consultants and the like. They improve your admissions odds only slightly. Invest more time in helping your kid understand who they are and want to become and use that as the basis for the college search. 14/
Thank you @HeyListenGames !! I received Teaching With Video Games today - just started flipping through, and I’m so impressed by the variety of lesson topics you include. I can’t wait to use your ideas in my class, and spread the word with my colleagues!
An exciting day in Career & Tech class — I’ve finally figured out how to get code onto our Arduinos (& need to get IT to un-block the chrome extension so kids can do it from their chromebooks next year!!!), and the Mecha Suit one of my students designed for his Mini-Fog works!
I received a PEF grant for Arduinos to use with my advanced Career & Tech students. After working with circuits for a couple of weeks, today was the first time we broke out the breadboards. I was nervous (!!!) as this is all new to me, but it all worked!
Oh, the answers here. I just thought I was doing something wrong, but no. Middle schooler’s are amazing in the choices they make sometimes! 😂😂

3D printing has been happening! Students are designing blind bag toys , and printing off one or two from their lines. Package design should also be happening, but it’s hard to convince students to stop tinkering new toys 😜

It's a big ask, but I've picked the 3D printer I'm hoping for, and the Donors Choose project is live! If you are looking to support public school Career & Tech students and help provide a memorable experience, click here!

Lovely model showing the deformation associated with the subduction zone earthquake. When the strain is accumulating on the interface, the coastal area will gradually be uplifted, with places close to the trench subsidence. When the rupture happened, it inversed.

Looking to raise $ for a 3D printer to use with my MS science & robotics students. Don’t know what to ask for! What features should I make sure to have? Fave brands/models? I’m thinking hundreds, not thousands of $$.
