A lot of Arch Manning highlights are:
- Often deep balls: 9s, seams, posts
- Often v. single-high, single cov
- At times 3+ seconds into reps
Good to hit on these plays but it's higher variance. "Boring" stuff matters more to consistently sustain drives.
Yeah there's really no doubt anymore imo
Def want to see Drew Mestemaker in some bigger games with a higher comp level down the line, but from an evaluative standpoint, he's safely QB1 compared to the rest of the field rn
Dylan Stewart with the *powerful* forklift-swim to get the strip sack & give South Carolina the ball for the game-winning field goal.
Big-time players make big-time plays.
Reed Harris with the impeccable late-hands timing on this play. Backs up his size and catch-point potential with his nuance in close quarters.
I have a first-round grade on Harris. 116 yards at *halftime* this week.
Aidan Chiles in ‘26:
- 92.3 PFN QB Impact (4th in CFB)
- Over 1,600 pass yards
- 12-1 TD:INT, 8 rush TDs
Flashed at MSU but in a better situation, he’s thriving. Excellent situational awareness & precision to place the ball low w/ the LBs eyes upfield.
This angle is even more impressive from Zeke Berry. Doesn’t for a second take the bait on the swirl route & swivels his hips quickly enough to recapture his stride & break in front of it.
Short-area mobility + reaction timing = In position for the play!
Zeke Berry with the interception and return, reading Josh Hoover’s eyes all the way and breaking in front of the pass.
This pass feels like it’s pretty late from Hoover, but credit to Berry for capitalizing. Versatility + playmaking!
I’ve been impressed w/ the growth Princewill Umanmielen has shown this year. Love this chop-rip while cornering & reducing pretty much all the way to the ground & keeping balance.
Has matched his 2025 sack production in *half* the games.
Clutch extension grab from Charlie Becker on 3rd.
Imo he hasn’t been *quite* as consistent in contested situations as he was in ‘25, but has still been excellent.
The catch radius / body control is absurd & the composure through contact wins big here.
Jyaire Hill has been up-and-down in his career, but he’s scheme & role diverse & the highs are high. Case in point v. Charlie Becker:
Stays square, squeezes Becker against the boundary w/ length, then plays through the hands w/ his back to the ball.

Plus, two other guys I've heard consistently about, Wayshawn Parker’s rising stock and Rabbit Evans’ NFL fit on the latest Blockcast.

New OT2 in the 2027 NFL Draft after film / grading updates this week
Even with the age & medical asterisk, I think Utah's Zereoue Williams is in some extremely lofty conversations off his start in 2026.
A little jarring to see this. There is a potential outcome where Arch Manning is benched at Texas before he declares for any draft cycle.
The talent is there, but the progression simply has not been this year. Hard to find a reprieve in the thick of SEC play, too.
Missed this last night, but this was an excellent play by Oregon TE Jamari Johnson in the clutch.
Scraped past the flat defender, expertly stemmed & decoupled inside the boundary DB, flowed to the void behind the SAF & used his body control to convert.
