So excited for our new joint research project with @IOMIndonesia - over the next couple of years, we'll be looking into #maritimesecurity and #TOC in #indonesian waters. A fantastic start to our project earlier this month; and what an amazing team to be working with!
Our collaboration with Coventry University dives deeper into the #migration dimension of #MaritimeSecurity as well as transnational organized crime at sea.
Stay tuned as we navigate these crucial issues for safer migration in Indonesian waters.

Greece has become the first country in Europe to announce a ban on bottom trawling in all of its national marine parks and protected areas.
The country will spend €780m (£666m) to protect its “diverse and unique marine ecosystems”.

#Migrant fishers are often at high risk of exploitation in the open sea.
Leading up to the celebration of #MigrantsDay, IOM supported the AICHR-led Forum on #HumanRights at Sea, in fostering dialogues to develop the #ASEAN guidelines for the protection of migrant fishers.
