A statement from Phoenix Suns and Phoenix Mercury owner Mat Ishbia about the passing of Dave King.
ALT "I am saddened today to learn of the passing of Dave King, longtime managing editor of Bright Side of the Sun. Dave’s passionate coverage of the Suns brought our fans together, and his work to give back to the community was extraordinary. My thoughts are with his family and the entire Suns community. Dave will be missed." - Phoenix Suns and Phoenix Mercury owner Mat Ishbia.

In lieu of flowers, his family requests that you make donations to Dave’s beloved Bright Side Night (the information still reflects Bright Side Night 2024 on the Suns’ website, but all donations count towards next year’s event).

This past weekend, the @Suns media family lost a legend.
Unfortunately, our very own @DaveKingNBA has passed away. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family as they navigate this unquantifiable loss.
