राजनीति में सबसे खतरनाक चीज विपक्ष नहीं होता, बल्कि सत्ता के आसपास जमा वह समूह होता है जिसकी वफ़ादारी किसी विचारधारा से नहीं, बल्कि सत्ता से होती है।
मोदी ने पिछले एक दशक में भाजपा को जिस तरह एक व्यक्ति के इर्द-गिर्द खड़ा किया है, उसका सबसे बड़ा नुकसान भाजपा को ही उठाना पड़ेगा।
आज भाजपा में मोदी के सामने खड़े होने की राजनीतिक हैसियत कितने नेताओं की बची है?
जिन नेताओं ने अपने राजनीतिक जीवन के 30–40 साल संगठन को दिए, आज उनकी पहचान भी मोदी के नाम के बिना अधूरी दिखाई देती है।
लेकिन यह व्यवस्था हमेशा नहीं चल सकती।
आज जो नेता मोदी की हर बात में राष्ट्रहित देखते हैं, कल वही नेता बताने लगेंगे कि किस तरह एक व्यक्ति ने पूरी पार्टी को बंधक बना लिया था।
आज जो पत्रकार मोदी को भारत का सबसे महान प्रधानमंत्री बताते हैं, उनमें से कई कल किताबें लिखेंगे कि कैसे भारत में संस्थाओं को कमजोर किया गया।
जो उद्योगपति आज सत्ता के साथ तस्वीरें खिंचवाने के लिए लाइन में खड़े रहते हैं, वे नई सरकार के सामने अपनी लोकतांत्रिक प्रतिबद्धता साबित करने लगेंगे।
और जो टीवी एंकर आज विपक्ष से सवाल पूछना भी देशद्रोह समझते हैं, वे अचानक सत्ता से सवाल पूछने को पत्रकारिता का सबसे बड़ा धर्म बताने लगेंगे।
असल तमाशा तो तब होगा जब मोदी के सबसे बड़े समर्थक ही मोदी युग के सबसे बड़े आलोचक बन जाएंगे।
इतिहास में तानाशाही प्रवृत्ति वाली राजनीतिक व्यवस्थाओं की एक बड़ी विडंबना रही है कि सत्ता कमजोर पड़ते ही उसके सबसे वफ़ादार दिखाई देने वाले लोग अपना राजनीतिक भविष्य बचाने में लग जाते हैं।
मुझे तो लगता है कि मोदी के बाद भाजपा की सबसे बड़ी लड़ाई कांग्रेस से नहीं, बल्कि भाजपा के भीतर ही लड़ी जाएगी।
और उस दिन सबसे दिलचस्प दृश्य यह होगा कि मोदी के नाम पर राजनीति करने वाले लोग ही साबित करने की कोशिश करेंगे कि वे कभी मोदीवादी थे ही नहीं।
मोदी के बाद भाजपा खत्म होगी या नहीं, यह भविष्य बताएगा, हां लेकिन इतनी संभावना जरूर है कि भाजपा बहुत कमजोर हो जाएगी और कम से कम 10 से 15 साल यानि 2 से 3 कार्यकाल भाजपा सत्ता में नहीं आ सकती।
जिस दिन सत्ता का केंद्र बदलेगा, उस दिन बहुत से लोगों की विचारधारा, पत्रकारिता, राष्ट्रवाद और वफ़ादारी भी बदल जाएगी।
देखना यह है कि मोदी के बाद मोदी से सबसे अधिक दूरी कौन भाजपा का नेता रखेगा और सबसे तीखी आलोचना कौन उद्योगपति करेगा?
