A tremendously brave victim, a brilliant investigation and a despicable defendant.

Delighted that PC Rob Alston passed this hugely rigorous and demanding course. Well done.

Out on a training day today which subsequently had me out in the Manx hills. The trainers couldn’t have picked a more stunning location (not sure the students lugging kit around would agree!) Even in the winter months it’s a beautiful place to be! #loveiom #gladitsnotlashingdown

Potential #Taser officers are half way through their training this week after spending most of the last two days in the classroom learning about communication skills, de-escalation skills, decision making, vulnerable people and the device itself. Putting that into practice today!

I watched body worn video footage today showing a young student officer dealing with a distressed man, who was armed with a knife and who was cutting himself. The calmness, compassion and skill that I saw were fantastic. How policing should be.
A long day of assessments today for one group of potential new firearms officers. Fitness, judgemental scenarios, written tests & interviews ensure we select the right officer to begin the 11 week course. All made real later on by watching the #TFU kitting up for a deployment.
