If you refuse to forgive and then bless the difficult people in your life, you are in danger of becoming a difficult person.

That which was with the Father and was made manifest to us, that which we have seen and heard we proclaim also to you, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ. 1John1:2-3 #witness #fellowship

It is troubling that not a century has passed from Nie Wieder, Never Again, and fifteen years from Kristallnacht, the pogrom against Jews in Germany. The hatred against Israel and Jews in the USA and other nations is troubling. May God have mercy on us.

Every day, we are faced with a choice to pursue the me, me, me lifestyle or to pursue Christ. He tells us to love the Lord with all of our heart, soul, and mind. And to love our neighbor like we love ourselves. Whose mission are we following?

Here is a practical #LEADERSHIP principle I've taught for years: "If there is even a hint of conflict -- DO NOT TEXT or EMAIL seeking resolution. BEST -- face to face meeting. Second best - phone call. Binary letters won't let people hear your heart."

That dangerous “third rail” in leadership is never any of the “things” people mention. It is control. When a leader touches the entrenched systems of power, the brokers therein will fight back. Great leaders do not fear the rail but they know the cost.

One of the main challenges ministers often face resembles Peter’s posture at the last supper. He is always willing to act, speak up, and selflessly serve… yet apprehensive to welcome someone else’s ministry to his needs. That's why Jesus' example in foot-washing is so important; it forces a posture shift for both the minister and the one receiving the ministry. Let’s excel at both… serving the needs of others and also welcoming ministry to the needs of our soul.
